Be that as it may, how long does it take to build one? And what is a castle?

I don't require exact answers here. It's a mental exercise. Very few people know how long it takes to build a castle. That's why I'm asking. The folks that don't know, but are curious, will go and look it up. It's longer than most people nowadays think. I'll give the spoiler answer in a few days after everyone has had some time to research this.

So what you're telling me is that you're convinced that there's a castle somewhere, but you haven't told me what a castle is, you don't know how long it takes to build one, and you have no idea how many people would be required to build one?

There are several definitions for a Castle on-line, and in a couple of minutes anybody could answer your question. What is very interesting is that there is a Castle depicted on many of the old maps of Acadia. My question is, why?

I think we should be a little more supportive for FK, we don't want to discourage him. I imagine this big of a project can be stressful and overwhelming at times.

I think its safe to say we are all excited about whatever results he finds (albeit getting a little impatient) but he is the only one currently working at that site and appears to be taking proper measures to get it done properly.

FK we may question your conclusions so far but that is not because we are against you, it's just cuz we are wanting presented evidence to support your conclusions. Keep up the good work and update us as often as you can please!

Thank You Schlechter , I have my own thoughts on what's at this site , just like everyone else. I am no expert at the Templar period, I am a Treasure Hunter that hunts for treasures from the 1860's back to the 1300's . Some ask questions that I can not answer or will not answer at this time. The good news is that we have enough new major finds to bring in the experts and then we will find out the truth about this site.
Sean from Culture and Heritage knows what we have located at the site and what we plan to do. When we open a tunnel or vault chamber they will be on site ready to help us with our research .At this point we will work with them and give them all the info we have and try to get a major dig at this site. My number one gold is to prove who was at this site and when. What was built here and for what.

Another question: The people who built this alleged castle at New Ross ... what did they do with their ships? Were they abandoned in Mahone Bay while the settlement was being built inland?

Good question, no idea! These old vessels only lasted some 30 years, what happened after that is anybodys guess.

FYI. Viking finds in Pointe Rosee, Newfoundland. On PBS Nova series this wednesday. You can google this.

The thread started out as, "Templar Vault Found". We then learn that there is NO evidence that a Templar Vault was found and that the poster was just trying to attract attention. Now the thread has diverted to possibly finding Norse fortifications. If that's the case this thread should be closed (as zero evidence of a Templar Vault has been presented) and a new thread started for the Norse fortifications.

Why is there so much negativity and bickering on this thread ?

I'm wondering the same thing. Are we seeing jealousy?

FinderKeeper and his group are exploring a potential treasure site, which seems to be an appropriate topic for Treasurenet. He has been, in my opinion, generous in sharing information about that site. And, like any site, there are tangential issues like the possible discovery of a new Norse settlement that may be relative to their search. Discussing that kind of thing would seem to me to be the whole point of a forum!

I have a hard time believing that anyone can be so bent about the title of the thread not precisely suiting them. If you don't approve, maybe it's a thread you should avoid and not open.

By the way, if the Point Rosee discovery gets confirmed, it is a big deal. And, it could, possibly, be quite relevant to the site in New Ross.

Jealousy? Nah. I don't think so. Frustration, maybe, at reading a thread entitled "Templar Vault Chamber located at New Ross, Nova Scotia", with absolutely no evidence presented that would suggest that a vault of any kind is there. ... lots of theories based on speculation, assumption and conjecture, but nothing to back it up.

If it does exist as you describe, I don't know who built it or why. But it's a fairly large leap, though, to go from a potentially unknown structure to a Templars castle.

Yes i have, i have several evidences, i know the region, but i still don't have the resources to found it, because it's a big area it would need several months or years to found it.

I'am opened to proposals if somebody wants to sponsor a research.

Do you take checks?

So your saying that if anyone has a theory or idea about something but hasn't yet aquired any tangible proof, they shouldn't bother making a thread?? That seems pretty harsh especially for treasure hunters who are typically chasing theories and ideas without yet being able to aquire tangible proof.

If anything a slight edit to the title should be sufficient, just add possibly located...

FindersKeepers did put his thread in the Treasure Legends section so I think we shouldn't be so rigorous with demands for "facts-only" and "hard evidence". I enjoy the speculation and look forward to reading his updates about the dig.

After all it was only 100 years ago or less that the idea a Norse or Viking ship could traverse the North Atlantic was laughable.

Templars in Nova Scotia ? You never know !

Yeah, the fiction is fun, but when someone states it as fact, they shouldn't be surprised or offended when their ideas are challenged.
