Feel free to post yours here also......

OK started cleaning out some shelves hoping I might need the room. I stuff everything into a book case then frame it and store it away. Most of you have seen my little river and field hunts some I never posted though. Nothing spectacular but all found by me. I did not get all the tools in there like scrapers, choppers mortars and pestles. A couple of the good ones went into some locked frames I lost the keys to and did not want to unscrew them to get to them. : ) If I am lucky I might get one more frame this year.
Thanks to everyone for inspiring me to get out for that next hunt. Have enjoyed sharing. My goal is to have fun and it has been that.

Feel free to post your yearly totals so far its fun to see all of them again !

Regards,
TnMountains
Modified: Ok, did open one frame to get the lostlake and some uni tools and spikes out from earlier this year :icon_sunny:

Wow...great stuff...I'll have to post mine this weekend if I get a chance. I haven't found nearly as many as you folks but mine are all creek finds...I don't have fields to hunt. YET!!

I tell ya'll what, couldn't see better artifacts in many museums. This is truly an incredible view of ancient Americana.

Thirty7...what an incredible coincidence! Watch for a post tomorrow when I can get some sunshine. It'll be a surprise.
I still can't believe it!

Here was a quick shot before my batts went dead, more "kitchen" stuff tomorrow.

Nice finds BW, how big is that grinding stone they are sitting on? You have my interest piqued. I should have taken those last pics in the sunshine, it's hard to beat natural sunlight.

Super piece in the last two pics. :headbang:

Would it be too much trouble to show a top view of it ?

Thanks uniface. I figured you would like that one. If you look in the first photo on that same post it is in the bottom row on the right hand side. If you need a better picture I'll see if I can one for you and post it. The piece on the bottom row on the left in that same photo is also a nice uniface piece and has a very sharp edge on one side.

Thought you guys were done showing.lol.great pieces thirty7,dorkfish and BW,I really like seeing the hardstone artifacts, thx for sharing the pics. And you have me curious BW??artifacts do look real nice in the sunlight.

I was wondering where you were also. You have found some great pieces this year. Are some of them as large as they look??

Yes. These are most of the bigger finds that I have had this year. The point in the first picture in the middle is 5 1/4 inches long. I was very, very happy when I found it.

Thats what I thought. People do not realise the true size of the points you find. I have seen them from your area and they are monsters. I love em. When you going to give them a good bath?? lol

When I find them I wash them with a toothbrush and soft soap. A lot of the points I find have mineral deposits on them that will not wash off.

Here's what we've found so far, TnMtns. Not nearly as much as everyone else's! We don't hunt/gather too much in the Summer, as I am soooo afraid of snakes. Come on FALL!!!
For about every whole point we find there are 20 brokes--the creek tumbles them and they snap. I envy you guys who have fields to hunt!
I think my favorite things we've found so far this year are the big cores of flint and the Hopewell point I found.
Lots of great 2009 finds everyone! I so enjoy seeing different lithics and types from across the country.
kind regards~~sandcreek
