Basically we made clamp to hold some corrugated roofing to the sluice and then in a short u shape for the first piece then folded as many as we needed and stacked them together. I'm not at home or I would post more pics for you...

Another thing you can use for a dead man is a truck axle one from a half ton pick up. It has a nice hat on it so your line won't slip off drive it in at an angle you can use it as a pry bar too. We used them off roading when there were no trees
