T80 Compressor help needed. How to remove the exhaust plate from the head.

Never seen that before!
That compressor has seen a few things!

I have no helpful information to add about that phenolic block. x_x

Is that Cosmoline all over it though? I remember from one of Winner's posts that the really old ones used it. -Edit- I just noticed that he linked the page where he mentioned cosmoline. :D
That is going to be some nasty stuff to remove, gun guys know all about it.

I don't thinks it's cosmoline it seems like thick grease. I was just using this thing last week for lobsters when it started clanking.

if the vibration is just right you get harmonics that explode the metal.
a few years ago I had a 6" pulley on a brand new t-80 just a little bit off and it exploded into 1000 pieces.
when I replaced the eccentric on the one I have now I had to run a tap through to get the set screw to reach the shaft then I used loctite.
I used boiling water and de-greasing dish soap then more hot water to wash off the soap then after it dried I wiped all the aluminum down
with a rag soaked with rubbing alcohol and a few drops of USP mineral oil it keeps the aluminum from forming that oxidized white powder.
here's some prices;
$69.95 for the eccentric with the connecting bearing included;
eccentric - ArmadilloMining.com
$7.55 for the two end bearings part # 6202ZZ

I taped mine on with short piece of wood and a hammer wasn't to hard to get them lined up with the blocks they sit in
the eccentric was the same it has a set screw that only goes in one spot as long as the piston is in the center it should be right.
might work easier if you put the shaft in the freezer for a few.
