On January first I did well finding 178 coins in three hours. February first however was super! Heading south out of the snow and cold I found a couple of prime areas for new change. At the first I found 181 coins including 81 quarters. At the second I found an area I couldn't believe I hadn't searched before,it had the potential for many many quarters and it did.
Previously the most quarters I had ever found in a day was 183,which I thought I would never break, Wrong! Yesterday I found 214!
Here are my total finds from my first 400 plus day in five years;
Cents; 68
Nickels; 3(two with other coins and one surface find)
Dimes; 118
Quarters; 214
half dollars; 1
Dollars; 2
Silver ring,(sterling CTR ring)
key
dance medal.
I thank Bula for taking and posting pictures of my finds,Good Hunting, Kane 23

To penneyfinder: ain't no bull here I've been with him. He is a coin shooting sun of a gun.

KANE YOU ARE THE COIN MAN. NICE FINDS. I WILL TRY THE WAYS YOU TOLD ME AFTER I GET OVER
THIS KNEE REPLACEMENT. KYLE .. BEST OF LUCK IN 2009.

Thanks Bula for defending me.Kyle i'm sure you will do well, you certainly have the right attitude. Pennyfinderjim, I have many people who will testify that I am for real, what do you expect after my forty years detecting? I live to treasure hunt. I say with enough practice and determination most of you can find large amounts of coins.
Back in the early seventies there were days that I would find a 100 silver coins a day, I certainly can't do that anymore, but all of you know as well as I that there are millions of clad coins out there and millions more being lost all of the time. SO GO FIND YOUR SHARE,I certainly will continue to do so. Good hunting, kane 23

Hey Kane23, have you ever done any competition hunting? Sounds like you have in the past.

Rick

It sure looks like your experience is paying off for you. It's more important to know where to go than to know how to use the machine. Great job.

Great work Kane!

I never counted for volume, yet thinking back, I don't think I ever passed over 200 coins when I hit a big coin drop. Maybe a pinata or something like that, with some spills in other areas.

Never that many quarters!

Good for you!

Rick,
I have never done a competition hut, I did meet supercompetition hunter John Williams before he died. Rmptr, these coins were mostly found one or two at a time I think the most I found together was 6 or 7. The best spill I ever found was 162 coins in a seattle park.Actually my record coin day was 546 coins found in the same two towns as this 405 coin day,I had the discrimination set lower that day and only found 119 quarters., I did this in 2001.This was the same year I found the most, a little over 20,000 coins. If anyone can find the january 2005 Western and eastern treasures, a man in that issue found 36,000 plus coins in 2003. He also found over 5000 coins in a month twice that year. Now thats serious detecting!
Bad weather is moving in again, today will probably be the last detecting again for a while. Anyone going to the Vegas bottle and collectible show february 14th? If so i'll see you there......Kane 23

Yesterday was more typical day for me, I found 65 coins,38 cents,12 dimes,12 nickels and only 3 quarters,at least it was'nt snowing, kane 23

oh yeah...every day there is no snow falling I am praisin God! Glad you got out and even your typical day puts me to shame! lol Take care my friend! ~hugs~

Hard Work...............Congratatulations

Saturday it was'nt snowing like it was supposed to so I was able to search an older lot that I had searched a few times before,I of course was looking for older stuff. I did find five wheat cents, two of which were dated 1913,I also pulled up a 1900 V nickel and an antique womens sterling silver ring without the stone. I ended up with 39 coins Saturday and 20 Sunday. It still has'nt snowed more than a skiff, but its darn COLD! kane 23

Now it's snowing and won't quit and they wonder why people get so depressed in the winter,no detecting again for me for a while....Kane 23
