My cousin and i are going to scrap an entire farm dump. The farm is about 2000 acres and the pile of farm equipment is supose to be huge. I have not seen it but my cousin has and its going to take a few weekends. I am going to try something i think is new in this section. Instead of just talking about scrap iam going to take photos of it. Let me know what you think...aa

I think its a great idea. Pictures of what you scrap and what you got for it would excellent. On a 2000 acre farm there must be tons of iron.

Should be interesting. Don't get tunnel vision and zoom in on scrap value only.

My problem is when I see a pile of stuff, I tend to pick the out pieces that I want for myself, I like to tinker. This week I got a panoramic X-ray machine, about 800 pounds worth and I've started pulling out the good stuff. Also this week I've scrounged up an air compressor and an intraoral X-ray machine. Next week I will add another air compressor to the pile.

Not much in this pile

if you have time to put some of that on ebay or in the classifieds, those water tanks should be worth more than scrap. As dosamigos said, back off the flip mentality and remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Are you on a short timeline? I'm sure there is a lot more to be made if you seperate the finds instead of lumping them all together just to make some cash.

Been down this road, lost a lot of dinero because I wanted it all and I wanted it now. If I only knew.

OK out again today and got about 2 ton of number 2 . There are some very large water valves out there and the screws are brass :o Each Screw is 4foot long and a about 2 inches solid brass. After an hour of unscrewing we had 50lbs of brass. Next week its the cast valves that have to weigh 1200 pounds a piece....aa
