So I found these 2 jars full of sand tonight. They were laying side by side about 6 inches down. I haven't opened them yet. Why would anyone bury jars of sand?

Yeah , make sure you don't trash a jar full of flour gold ! It would be several pounds if it was gold.

Just maybe something is buried in the middle. I would open and check it out. Hope it’s something good for you.

Probably over thinking but maybe they wanted to bury the jars for a rainy day and figured they weight of soil would eventually crush them, unless they were filled with something to equalize the pressure.

Two jars of sand?
You live in ND and the family takes a first and only trip to one of the coasts.(Thinking sunny California) The ocean waves are lapping at the feet as they walk along the beautiful sun soaked beach, oh how beautiful the sunset is glimmering off the coastal waters as the birds play along the gentle breezes. What better way to bring back the memories of the fine sand than into the two jars that were repurposed from the picnic basket of foods, to bring back to the dust bowl of ND.

Poor mans urns maybe

Or just kids playing with sand in jars( the original video game)

Maybe it's not sand but some kind of grainy kind of rat poison or something similar. Some of the poisons back then are now banned too, because they are so harmful and toxic.

Well? inquiring minds need to know!

I live in Arizona and have a jar of white sand from Clearwater beach FL.
My wife collected it because she misses the white sand and beach were
she grew up.

It sits quietly in the closet to be buried some day for a poor sole to find it and dig
it up.

well, I have known some people that have done some very strange things that mad absolutely no sense. Maybe they had money buried in them originally and someone dug them up and filled them back up for the owner to find but never did. or maybe.......
