Headed out to Ct to hit a special site one last time..It has been hammered to death but i wanted to focus just roaming all the stone wall penned in areas far from the cellar..Not much at all but came upon one spot that had some activity..Ending up grabbing a,
Cool Colonial buckle:headbang:
Not sure if it's a shoe buckle or not it was bent pretty bad..It is more rectangle than most..
Couple buttons..One you can see the blue thick woolen coat that was worn.
Another small buckle and a few other relics..I was hoping for just 1 coin but it didn't happen..

Have fun out there:hello:

Nice finds Blaze. Like the buckle. Always happy to dig a buckle! Congrats

Great Hunt Jman and some very nice keepers . You can never say you had a bad day in RI . Lot of places that are not covered in concrete up there , covered in snow but not asphalt , Best Finds for 2016

Mike

Beauty buckle and I think the wool on that button is awesome! Nice scores and good to see you hunting in the snow.

That is a great hunt in a poorfolks hill country homesite. That is a shoe buckle, and most flat frame ones are broken by plows or hooves. Looks like a site that was settled in the 1700s and gone by mid 1800s?

Making another raid into CT Johnny? I would say it was a success!

Always nice to scratch out finds from pounded spots.

Sweet buckle Blaze! Love those stone walls in CT. I work 1 week a month in CT and when I drive up I take the Merritt\Wilbur Cross parkway. In the winter months, when the leaves are down, I drive and drool, looking out into the woods and seeing those old stone walls go for miles as I drive. Every now and then a property corner will send another stone wall perpendicular and off deeper into the woods. I always think about how much time and effort it was to gather all those rocks and make them.

Nice way to kick off the year man.

Nice saves for the early season hunting. The wool on the button it really cool.

Great looking site there JB, I would say the are some nice finds hiding in there some where for you, although I do like the buckle.

Pretty damn good result for a hammered site my brother. This is gonna be a HUGE YEAR. WHOOOOOOOO

Ya know, I've not had much desire, (nor luck), hunting places like that but, seeing even these nice finds makes me feel like I've been missing something.

I guess I need to do a bit more "broken field/woods" hunting sometime. :)

Always the potential of something really wonderful too!

Nice!

The button with the blue wool is way cool to me. Holding a button from that era is great, but you have some idea of what the garment itself looked like!

Here in NH we have stone walls everywhere and I wish I could split into 1000 pieces and search every one. You know stuff was dropped while they were building them up.

Wanna hear something crazy i was looking at lots for sale in NH and then i came back to Tnet and bam here is your posts:laughing7:

As always I love the site pics best of all. You never disappoint in that regard, just look at that line of rocks... How cool is that ?

Good finds too JB.

PS I'd be hunting too if I only had that much snow.

OH look, no thanks guy is on banner, big surprise that is.

It's funny I also call them "stone walls" but around here if I ask anyone older person if they seen or know of anywhere there is any of them they have no idea what I'm talking about. Then if I say "old stone fences" then they usually instantly know what I'm asking about! [emoji2]
