I got out twice this weekend. I'll group my finds into one post here.
6 hours total at 4 local schoolyards. I definitely hit the jackpot in a big way this weekend.
Yesterday, I found a really sweet 14K ring with a large dark green pear shaped stone and a diamond chip. It's a large ring size, even too big for me. It was laying on top of the woodchips under a swing. I could see the gold band as I passed over it with the detector. Sweet!
Today I found, on top also, an awesome ??K earring, can't make out the hallmark, loaded with 17 diamonds. I will take it to work tomorrow and microscope it. This thing is heavy duty. There seems to be a piece missing maybe, and the post where it was welded to the back was bent and cracked a little. Big Smiles!!!
I also found three gold charms, a very nice Sterling ring, and two Sterling earrings. One of these is a Mickey Mouse earring and my wife tells me they are $90 a pair. A lot of keepers for a short time hunting.
I had a pouchful both days. Totaled $19.05 in clad, 224 coins. Also about 20 trinkets (junk jewelry), a necklace, a bracelet, charms, rings, toe rings, and a metal. I found 4 Hot Wheels little cars too.
It was an amazing weekend of treasure. Best of luck to you all!
I keep thinking that I will get out of the schoolyards and hit some older sites, but with the way things are going, I can't stay away. I do have a lead on an old abandoned piece of property that used to be a riding stables and they had hayrides too.
