Still learning the XP DEUS - fake out signal - from cob to iron trash

CP, can you elaborate on these thoughts. Many believe the lower frequencies penetrate deeper and what about the site leads you to say reactivity set at two won't work at that site.

When I 1st got my Deus I learned it at an old site which ended up producing a cob and 3 cut pistareens. There, after I beat the site to death I tried all the freq's and wasnt able to eke much of anything else out. It may just be that I dont have enough experience here.

Most of the time I can't wiggle the coil and get it to reproduce the iron sound. I run usually in the 17 meg frequency and I will switch to a lower frequency to eliminate nails and digging small high conductive things such small pieces of aluminum.

Thanks. Tomorrow I will try running in diff freq's to see what happens. I got the pommel today by taking the GB to 77 and running react at 2. Crazy deep stuff comes out with those settings thats for sure. I def dug more iron nails. Some at over a foot.

When I get a signal which could be iron, I switch right into non motion audio disc . If it's iron you will get a low tone if it's a coin the tone will be high.

I'm sure I was running at least 3 react and little to no disc. There are only a few small areas at this site where I turn on any disc. I always run my freq at 18. I dont see any difference in the freq settings. Cant imagine trying to run react at 2 but will give it a shot. Havent tried that yet.
In my area there are tiny bits of alum, and tin everywhere. The higher frequency's hit them like it's a coin.I've dug a good sounding tone down to 12 inches, only to find a tiny bit of alum (the size of the end, of a pen eraser) using 12 kHz and above!:BangHead: Using 8kHz I can avoid the small bit's false signaling like a coin. I've done a lot of testing with the diffrent frequency's,and in my results 8kHz is the champ in coinshooting and rejecting tiny bits of trash, and getting depth. It may be different in other parts of the country with different soil conditions?

I agree on the 8 kHz being the best choice for most coin hunting. I use it primarily and the do the switch to 4kHz to weed out bottle caps when needed.

Thank you for the video, CP. Well done. I'm still a Deus noob, and need all the help I can get. Went out yesterday for the first time in full-tones, and it was cool to hear all the different sounds. Its wasn't until I actually laid some coins down on the ground until I understood what they all meant. Like you, I was fooled by two separate squarish flats of iron about the same size at the ones you found. One had a brad in it, and the other was the same thing, but no nails at all.
