Re: starting soon....#1

OK ... I'll play.
I think this autograph is Victor Mature, (b. 1919) an actor
from the 1940's - 1984. Here is a screen shot of him, and
he looks familiar. I've seen him in several old movies ....

Re: starting soon....#1-#2

This one is a bit more difficult to read, but I
think it is James Craig, American actor ( b. 1912 ) and
was active in acting according to Wikipedia from the years
1937 - 1972 .

Alan Curtis - don't recognize the name (or the face), but I can read his handwriting easily. I love old movies - give us some more!

Ah, I recognize his pix, but not his name - Warner Baxter. Not leading man material like Victor Mature or Ronald Colman.

So much for food rationing during WWII. I guess it didnt apply to celebrities. But they did have price control protection and their coffee may have been limited. Here is some reading on the OPA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_Price_Administration

Very interesting stuff AA. Thanks for sharing. Ill bet you could get a great price if you ever decide to sell but keep it all together..

Love those ceiling prices. ;D

http://www.ameshistoricalsociety.org/exhibits/events/rationing.htm

During the Second World War, you couldn't just walk into a shop and buy as much sugar or butter or meat as you wanted, nor could you fill up your car with gasoline whenever you liked. All these things were rationed, which meant you were only allowed to buy a small amount (even if you could afford more). The government introduced rationing because certain things were in short supply during the war, and rationing was the only way to make sure everyone got their fair share.
