Start of a new mining boom?

Looks like the BLM press releases from just a month or two back are going to be modified and changed in part in the next few months.

The monuments for example are now being reviewed and likely be changed.

Will FLIPMA be reviewed next??????

The following are three BLM press releases:

One of the sources said the layoffs include around 800 people from the Bureau of Land Management, which manages millions of federally-owned acres for uses ranging from oil and gas development to timber harvesting, cultural preservation and recreation.

The sources asked not to be named in discussing the matter.

The Interior Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Interior’s ‘Fork in the Road’ resignations: 2,700 people

By Heather Richards | 02/14/2025 04:34 PM EST

Interior did not comment on how the reduced staff will affect operations across its sprawling responsibilities, from managing national parks and monuments to implementing the Endangered Species Act and stewarding the nation’s vast oil and gas programs on public lands and waters. As of May 2024, Interior had about 67,000 employees, according to OPM.

Feds Fire 4,400+ Public-Land Employees, Including Forest Service Workers, National Park Staff

While specifics on the firings are hazy, Politico reported Friday that the Forest Service dismissed 3,400 people, which is about 10 percent of its workforce. The Interior Department fired about 2,300 probationary employees — those who have been in their positions less than a year — including 1,000 people in the Park Service. The Interior Department also oversees the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The cuts are part of a broader effort within the new administration to slash the federal workforce, which included firing about 200,000 of the government’s probationary employees.

President Trump and Doug Burgum announce they are opening 625 million acres of offshore territory for drilling, reversing Biden’s last-minute ban before he left office.

The Public did not even vote on the offshore drilling ban. This hurt a lot of companies out there both USA and other Nations.

Interior Department Ignores Thousands Fired In Reviewing Its Week

By Kurt Repanshek February 17, 2025

Those 2,300 Interior employees — including 1,000 from the National Park Service — whose Valentine's Day greeting were termination notices? Not a mention in Interior Secretary Doug Burgum's "This Week At Interior" email sent Friday to review what Interior was up to last week. The video was removed early Monday.

I was in the BLM office today and a handful of people were already gone.

I guess some of the BLM people were brought on through a forestry grant or some other thing outside BLM and they were let go
Some are interested if there is going to be much cutting of staff. Perhaps less red tape as well?

I hope so but my worry is… there are already only two people who know how to (barely) do their jobs there…

Yes this can make things harder to do. Perhaps there will be some streamlining happening down the road?

The US government currently has ~4.6M active credit cards/accounts, which processed ~90M unique transactions for ~$40B of spend in FY24.

DOGE is working w/ the agencies to simplify the program and reduce admin costs - we will report back in 1 week.

This was released in the past 24 hours or so and what does this mean the mission of the department of the Interior is going to be ???????

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum Claims American Energy Dominance Is 'The Way To Save The Planet'

The next guy will shut it all down before anything gets started and the mining companies know this.
They will never invest millions in anything that isn't a sure thing.
Its the same reason our corporations wont ever come back that have moved out of country.
They aren't that stoopid.
