Starbucks asks U.S. customers to leave guns at home

"We found ourselves in a position where advocates on both sides of the issue were using Starbucks as a staging ground for their own political position," said Schultz, who in the past has willingly waded into the public debate over the U.S. national debt and gay marriage.

I don't like ANYONE sticking it in my face, no matter who or what the issue, and to force your particular beliefs on someone else, and particularly in someone else's place of business, is just plain disrespectful.

I remember when coffee in a restaurant was a nickle. When it went to two bits I was pizzed and wouldn't buy it for a long time. Starbucks coffee is too strong and too expensive, so I don't go there anyhow, but this is just one more reason to stay away. Lately most restaurants around here have been charging 2 bucks for a coup of coffee, which is weaning me again. Doc says I'm not supposed to drink it any how, but I still imbibe at home or with the guys at the American Legion. Talk about price changes, I started smoking Bull Durum and it was 5 cents a sack. Taylor made smokes were 20 cents for years, and in the Navy, sea stores were 10 cents a pack, and every one smoked. I'm glad I don't smoke any more, they are around $5 a pack and there is talk about raising the tax again, and it seems like the people that smoke the most are the ones that can least afford it. Hey, I'm off subject, was this a gun or coffee thread?

Second that thank you Pippinwp!

I wonder about people who need a weapons to drink coffee...
or people who pay 5 bucks a shot for espresso.

Oh so thugs, crooks and criminals don't attack in public places....... You may want to Google all the public places where attacks have occurred.

This is why I go no where unarmed...

I wonder how many people would be alive if some of the movie goers in Denver had been armed?

I don't price the Coffee at the Restaurants.
the truck stop was about 60 Cents for a bottomless cup which I used to
keep them filling for 2 to 3 hours, in the 90's
and leave a $5.00 tip if she kept it full & me awake all night

I'm guessing a Buck fifty average these days :( .
but when I imbibe it's with a meal.

Cigarettes ? approximately 60 cents a pack about 2 years ago.
That's buying a pound of Loose Pipe tobacco, & 4 cartons of filtered tubes
averaged somewhere around $23 here in PA Pipe Tobacco isn't taxed to death like Cigarette Tobacco. same thing pipe tobacco is not as fine and stays moist longer.
and is 1/3rd the price. I guess PA Politicians smoke pipes
