I went detecting in St Augustine this weekend. My wife and I started early Saturday morning and had a great day and decided to go back again Sunday morning and broke off around lunch. Both days were very unpredictable on what would be coming out of the hole. We started out with a few pennies, dimes and quarters and then we decide to go with pro zero mode with no discrimination and hit a large chunk of lead, which I assume it would be used to make bullets. We found a .69 caliber 3 ring minnie ball bullet, a .56 caliber round ball, a .45 caliber smooth bullet, a .30 caliber single ring bullet and a smaller round ball. The Shotgun shell caps are all 12 gauge and range from late 1800's to early 1900's the first is a UMC New Club with star, UMC New Club no star, REM UMC Shur Shot and REM UMC Nitro Club. Between Sat and Sunday we found several keys an old P&A oil lamp burner, a brass divot repair tool, a brass water cooler spout and multiple cans and pop tops. We found part of a sterling silver charm bracelet with a Tennessee and Nevada charm on a sterling chain. Also found 2 wheat pennies, a 1917 & 1951, a silver 1961 Roosevelt dime and a 1917 Mercury dime. I love an area where you can fine multi generational items. We will be going back next weekend for sure! Here are some pictures. Thanks for looking!
