I stopped at one of my colonial sites after work today in spite
Of the 90 degree heat. I was using my x-terra 705 with the 10.5"dd
Coil. My first signal sounded like a button partly masked by iron.
What I popped out of the hole blew my mind!!
I thought it might be a seal but wasn't sure
until I got home and carefully brushed it off
and saw the image of a colonist staring back at me!!!
It is complete and in great condition. The fob
looks to be brass and the engraved material looks
like carnelian stone. I'm thinking it dates to mid 18th century
which is consistent with other finds from this site.
I guess I can scratch this one off my bucket list!!

Wow that is a great find! I sure wish I had one of those

I really, really like those seals. Yours is really sweet. Congrats on the nice find!

Very nice find! Looks like William Penn to me :headbang:

Wow, great find! Saw a similar one on the canadian forum but not as detailed as yours, best I've seen here. Your nick suits you well, thanks for sharing this beauty of a relic!
Now I have to Google William Penn, lol.

This design has a fairly broad date of 1725-1800. Although it could have been functional, it was far more likely to hang as a bit of bling/jewelry off of a rich guys Fob Watch Chain. To have a watch in that period, you had money.

Beautiful find and the portrait is very clear. Wouldn't it be awesome if it were somebody famous?
Great find in every sense of the word!

Just saw this..wow..beautiful seal! The impression is awesome...any idea on who it might be!? Great save...Ddf

This is an excellent example of a type of relic that has risen to the top of my bucket list. I hadn't seen one with a portrait before. He looks like the son of Ben Franklin and George Washington!

One of a kind find.
Congrats

Whoa. That is fantastic! Would be doing back flips just after that find.
