Casca:
Those first 3 photos didn't post. Now, that last pic, just above, did and I think that is a hooded figure, padre or druid, not sure, but that large shadow face on the right ( circled in yellow ) looks like a copy of his face with hood showing; looking in the same direction as the carving.

I outlined that very large boulder in the center in red because it looks like a helmeted head with the face toward the hooded figure. I think it is meant to view from the distance you took the photo, because that lightened area (pointed out by the yellow arrow ) gives the face an indent to show the nose then mouth recess without having to actually carve out that large indented area.

As for nugget shooting......if those green rocks are copper ore, your best bet would be with a detector that has notching ability. You could take a piece of it that is the average size and use it as the reference to notch OUT the piece. Maybe that would help to take out SOME of the copper's effect on the detector for looking for gold nuggets.

Also, have you dug out any soil samples "downstream" from the vein to do testing as placer gold assay samples?? That big of a vein, should have leached out a goodly amount of gold dust over the centuries. If the gold is flour form, then you'll have to use mercury to test out some samples. Maybe the old potato method.......but be damned careful to stay UPWIND of the fire. I'm sure you already knew that, but I had to put that in....:) If you try panning those pocket samples, don't forget the Dawn liquid soap so the flour gold can hitch a ride out of the pan on the bubbles. :)

The center large rock mass spells out O-R-O. If you can see it...I'm not sure what it means, but I'm sure it's not important. Minor detail. If you can't see it...message me and I'll outline it for you there C-A-S-C-A.

Well, I did it. About once a month I go out and beat my body up trying to look in a hole I found. The hole did not contain gold, but did contain information. I will show you the hole, but if you want to know what it said, you will have to make the climb. Im off to my next two sites soon.

Here is the climb:the climb.jpgAbsolute bear and took me three attempts to find the right path up.

Inside the hole:iside the hole.jpgThis is what is inside the hole. Notice the round foot hold to go up top? That was the last 10' Feet. I didn't need to go up, I already know what is there.

This is the backside of one of the faces poking out at you:backside of one of the faces.jpg Almost mating lizards or something.

Here is a little trick I do to get my equipment up cliff faces like this one: ruckonarope.jpg I just tie a glow in the dark rope on it, and throw rope up ahead of me. Didn't need equipment today, had trouble just standing up.

Im done with this rock, let me post a few more other interesting finds on a new thread.

I found a priest today, very happy about that. I also may have found a work area. I really enjoy the area. Here is some pictures of a cave. Please enjoy.

Hi SS, yes the bear or druid is present in a few places. I have sampled down stream but not getting deep enough to see what is here. I'll keep at it. I learned something today.

Should see what I cant post. Thanks.

Here is a picture a friend pointed out to me. Over 300 pictures shot today, I have not yet sorted through them. This picture of me setting in a hole I found has a rock carving of a franco priest. Plus other faces in the rock. The hole wasn't empty after all.franco2.jpg

i bet casca, dont give all the goodies away. at least not for free.lol.

I have so much here I don't mind showing if I have a good example. I metal detect too and here is a neat find I made at the site today.

Casca, Thanks for pics. Very good. On the blowpipe I make my own. Take a peice of 1/4 inch ID copper pipe at least 18 inches long and bend last 3 inches gently to almost 90 degrees. Epoxy a mig welding tip in it. Very small hole. Use. R.

I need more info on this, could you post a picture or video? I may try this on the weekend. Thanks.

This is the easiest cave I ever got into. As you can see by the pictures, someone beat me to it, and left his signature. There was also a pair of owls with a nest next door in the cave when I came up to it.........smiles. Nothing like a bats, but owls are extremely huge in a tight place. You will see whats left of a alter, and some varnish on the wall. I was able to identify back filled dirt here, and tailings at the entrance of the cave. I did not bring the proper tools to film or do any digging. I did find some old bullets as surface finds. I never dig unless I already know what I will find. This cave appears to have a twin above it on the hill. I cant wait to see if that pans out.

I cant post a picture but very simple. Use .024 tip. Glue in copper at small bent end with the tiny hole pointed out. Look at a storebought one and go for it. $8 versus 200. R.

Hey, Casca and Hoofer. Why not get one of those cheap blowguns for home air compressors and take the tip from IT to use and the exit tip on your homemade blow pipe ?? If it has a hole that is too large, use some silver solder and a butane torch to fill the hole; then drill out a smaller hole with a wire size drill tip.

Shortstack, A package of four MIG tips is only a couple of bucks at ace. R.

Good deal. I paid more for a 4 count package for my Lincoln Handy Mig. I live in a small town and do most of my shopping on line for specialty items.

Lol, I did not see the ORO. Is that like a porn thing? Yes, please by all means, help me see the letters I have been missing in my photos. I know whats in the hole now. Besides some large ant/scorpion looking bugs and a very bad stench that leads me to believe I have found a snake hole.
