The boy and I made a trip back to where I found the 1864 IH and 39 buffalo and the kid found the counter struck Large Cent.
We had one of those days today, I know I dream about. Big copper, little copper and a little Spanish silver to cap the day off.
The first few hours the same ole story, the kid was kicking my butt doing all the finding. He had a KG Half Penny and for every 3 flat buttons he'd find, I'd find one. This went on up until just before we planned on taking a break for some lunch. That's when I found a little silver coin smaller then a dime. Lol
Besides my little silver he had probably 6 flat buttons to my 2 and he had the KG Half Cent.
After lunch I made a little come back. I found a couple flat buttons then again he was finding some too. Then I found a KG Half Cent myself. A few more flat buttons for both of us then I find a Large Cent of my own,1818. It didn't last long, he finds a Draped Bust Half Cent, 1808.
It was my turn next first finding another Large Cent, 1810 then finding a Liberty Cap Half Cent, 1794.
All total we found 15 flat buttons, 7 coppers and a Silver Reale.

Some pics..

Steve in Pa- the cold is moving in here too. Now we might have to wait before hitting this property again.

Oh Man, you guys have a great spot! That real is just a wish coin, WTG! Keep em coming. Too cold for my arthritus here on the shore. Glad to see you got out.

Congrats! Great site. . . Has there been any relics found from the era as well? Would like to see the 1809 LC up close, looks like it's going to clean up nice.

I just drooled all over my ipad...

Not much has come from here except some melted lead or trash. I did get this buckle from here, those pewter spoon handles and a couple bullets I'll post soon. The bullets I don't think are as old as the site.

I'll work on some better pics of the boy's LC.

Super nice finds and congrats! Now you just have to determine the Variety of the 1794 "Liberty Cap" Half Cent (I believe there are 9 different Varieties as of this writing).

The boy and I made it back for another 2 hour hunt today at our new property. We each found another big copper each and some more flat buttons. I also found a few bullets we think don't have the age this property has.

The kid found another KG III Half Cent, 1775. The only pic the kid got me so far is his KG still covered with dirt. I think he found another 3 flat buttons too

I found a Large Cent we think is a 1826? I hate what the ground does to copper. I took a group pic of my finds today.

Those are the kinds of hunts I always hope to have. 3 of my favorite things to find.

Hope this will work.

Congratulations on the fantastic hunt!

We made it back for another 2 hour hunt or so and found more flat buttons, no copper today.
I got 3 buttons, some lead, a rivet and a brass piece. The kid found 3 more buttons.

A couple pics. The pic with 6 buttons was the kids buttons from today and yesterday, top 3 today and the bottom 3 yesterday.
