Almost didn't go today but Mom shot me a text and instead of working out in the garage seperating E-Scrap decided to take advantage of a somewhat good weather day. Hit the fields around 11ish and began working a hard hit area for anything missed. Wound up doing a lot of walking and finding some buttons here and there. Really had to slow it down and the buttons keep getting smaller :laughing7: Had a great day on silver. Found a nice 1 Real in an area that produced several. My next silver was a biggun. Solid 94 on the T2 I did not have high hopes of a coin but rather a nice piece of can. But it ended up being that big old 1917S Walker Half. My third "silver" came at the end of the day. Thought it was a seated quarter until i say ONE DIME on the back :icon_scratch: It is as big as a Nickle as you can see in the 2nd photo its the same size but when you drop it , it sounds like tin or lead. Its a big old mongoloid fake 1852 seated dime! Very cool. Ended up with around 16 buttons. One button in particular caught my eye immediately. BIg US on the front with an eagle. My very first Great Coat button. Back mark is United States. Also pictured are shoe buckle frags and an ancient fishing rod guide. Also found another solid cast button in the nipple button field. Another great day the fields are still alive! Until next time.

I'll love to have the counterfeit in my collection. Cool finds

Nice one piece great coat button. I beleive it is circa 1820's. Now you need to find a two piece.

Nice Great Coat button Jim. That seated dime is a nice example of a counterfeit.

im glad i got to see what you found, awesome day, good meeting you and your mom, thanks for your advice with the t2, until next time.

very nice hunt jim!

Another nice pile of coins there Jim. That counterfeit is cool. Not sure how that would fool anyone with its totally out-of-place size.

Interesting seated. Probably just a reject counterfeit that they were testing out. Great finds.

Very nice collection of finds!

Nice Jim. My T-2 has been bought and should arrive at the end of the week. Thanks for helping me out. Can't wait til April when, hopefully, the snow and some frost is gone. Hogge

Awesome hunt congrats!

Sensational finds. That fake dime is really interesting, not to mention a terrible idea by whoever made it. Who could spend that when it's that big?

You had a good silver kinda day. Sweet button... Hard to believe I mapped this site three years ago and we walked away two years ago with a few buttons. :dontknow: Now its over twenty silver pieces, 500 plus buttons, everything else and we are still not done. Good spot...
