Is this a cap badge and from where? My first guess was German due to the cross but I can't find it in memorabilia sites. Thanks for the help!

Just some clarification. I was asked to get you're help identifing the item from a different forum. I knew this is the best for such endevors. It wasn't untilsomeone posted here that the owner had posted it on eBay. Sorry for the mix up.

I noticed the seller is from Georgia and celtex is from Texas, so the seller apparently is not you celtex.
You must have posted the eBay pics for identification. Celtex, you could have told us.

Whoever it is, has owned it for over 50 years so that alone would make me lean toward authentic even without better pics.
Its probably a piece like CBG describes and/or it may be rare..

I went back and reread the thread but I came away even more confused lol and editted here several times. Am I missing something?
Celtex how do you explain the eBay pictures? Did you post the wrong pics by mistake? Who ended the sale?
Do you have an identical cap badge or is it the same badge that was never yours? Am I mistaken?
Why did you stop posting?

Can you explain this so we dont have to keep guessing lol?

Here is celtex pic and the eBay pic side by side. They are identical even the same shadows.

Not my item was helping ID it off an other forum. I just used the pictures as given. I don't know the owner but the forum owner is a great guy and was asking for help in ID. Sorry if I have broken some edict on TN. No foul intended.

Thanks for the information which is the same conclusion I had eventually arrived at.
Some of us use every clue at our disposal to try and solve these items.
I was simply trying to determine if there were 2 different known cap badges of this type or we were looking at the one and only.

There is no foul that I know of other than possibly withholding information.
It helps to divulge everything you know up front especially when we are scratching our heads trying to figure it out.
And Im sorry if my persistance in solving this item upset anyone.

Too bad we cant positively ID it or at least find another like it to prove its authenticity.

After reading CannonBallGuys post, Im leaning toward authentic.
