Sort of token with the letters QSC Solved!

Hey everybody, I found this (token?) about 5 years ago on private property around an old home site. Just the stone rock foundation was there, of course with the owners permission. I tried to look it up but had no luck. The diameter of this thing is 1.293 If you look close to the center of what appears to be a cup. There is the number 53. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

WELCOME to the forum. Maybe the QSC stands for QS Company, and since it has a cup on it, it could be from a cafe, pharmacy, bar or the likes. You could research on early companies in GA or whatever state you found it to see if a company with that name existed. Another idea is the QS could be Q's as in mind your P's & Q's, so the establishment could QQ or Q's. The 53 could be the year established, address, or even part of the name. Nice find, Breezie

Coffee token maybe? "Quality southern coffee" ? I can see what looks like a large "T" above the QSC..."Tennessee"?

After Dano mentioned coffee, I came up with another search alternative. Paper Cups were invented/used in 1907/08 because of sanitary reasons. Using the letters TQSC in part of all, there are lots of possibilities. Some of the biggie cup companies were Solo and Sweetheart. Of course Dixie was the first cup company, and words like 'sanitary cup' could have been used.

I think Bramblefind has got the meaning of QVC.. Look closely above the cup. I think there may be some lettering in an arc.

Bramble and I generally see eye to eye on 99% of the WII items , but I don't think this is a McDonalds token. Today I came up with another idea. Since this token was found in GA, next door to South Carolina, the letters could represent the South Carolina Q Cup. The SC Q-Cup is a barbecue cook-off held each year in West Columbia, SC, and they call it the Q Cup. I think it deserves some research on GADiggers part. Here is a website with some info:

I think you might be on to something. I only have a few min to look into it today but what I found was that the oldest McDonalds was actually built in 1953. The problem I'm having is if it is a McDonalds token if you will. I'm sure they made 1000's of these things. Why can't I find a reference?

I dont think its from McD's but I think Bramblefind is on to something with the QSC slogan. Ill bet its (the slogan) been around at least the 1800's.

You are right they are many QSC slogans. I did find something interesting. In the golf world there is a thing called the QSC Cup. Think this thing could be a ball marker I tried going on to the web site. It's all in another language though. I can't get any where with it.

Ok I believe I'm getting close. I done some cleaning and what I thought was 53 is not but a I. So I google IQSC and come up with the International Quilt Study Center. So what I thought might be a cup I think now may be a thimble. I'll let you guys know. Thanks again for all the help!

I see there is no lettering about the cup. It almost looks like a trash container.
