I really need help on this. I found this at a old home site in Va. It is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter .the back is slightly cupped shaped . If anyone can point me in the right direction on who this might be or what it could be would be greatly appreciated. I found two three ringers and an eagle button amongst all the trash . So much iron. Thanks again for any help. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Why are you so worried about it? I'm trying to get an answer ? Why does it matter to you? I posted it twice , this is the second, it got over two hundred views and one comment , from you ... If you can't help out just carry on ..

Well, I'm not really worried about it, but on your one earlier thread titled "What in the HECK is this??" http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/428087-what-heck.html you had 154 views and no replies (except for mine) and on the other earlier thread titled "What is this???!!! " http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/427950-what.html you had 394 views and 12 replies, for a total of 548 views. If it hasn't been identified by now, either nobody knows or they ain't tellin'. Making a 3rd post seems a bit redundant, doesn't it?

No it doesn't seem redundant . I'm simply waiting for someone that has seen this or something like it. Like I said , carry on . It's sad you have to look through my profile and add everything up just to prove your right. Find someone else to troll

Lady has to have something pretty besides silverware. Options long ago for durable coatings were limited and had silver as a popular one..:dontknow:
Scalloped edge is not matching anything else in a limited search. Holes are two different types, some paraffin/oil/kerosene lanterns have tabs bent to hold the top on but most have consistent hole shapes, slots really, and include holes for a small bale.
Face powder tins showing un pierced lids and usually round. Running out of ideas. Originally leaned towards lighting but small to be a reflector.
With out more context it could be off an equestrian item or ribbon trophy. Too many possibilities ,so ,chocolate acceptable if a clean mold used.:laughing7:

Thanks a ton for your help. I appreciate it .

Only guesses.Face detail side has to be viewed from one side ,so lantern is out. A mold for butter pats or any thing seems a practical use. What other uses ,decorative maybe but would require a prosperous life to afford too many unpractical doo dads.

I do get the impression it should be pressed into something to make design. But when you look at the other side it looks a lot like a cameo . You would have to see which side has the sharpest detail . Nice find either way it should display nicely good conversation piece

I think it's too detailed for a biscuit mold or things of rough texture. Think of things with a smooth texture that will show detail. In any case it is an interesting find.

Why are there holes in it in the first two photos and not in the third?
Maybe just filled with dirt. Interesting cameo something

I think it may be a rosette for a Parade saddle.
I don't think that the image is of anyone in particular, just a design feature.

Make up compact cover...in the picture with red white blue background, it looks like hinge area on the left edge...they made compacts with cameos on them.

I believe it is the front part of a vinaigrette: A small container with a perforated top, used to contain perfume or smelling salts, especially popular for women in the Victorian era.
