You can't worry too much about people thinking you're crazy. If you believe the truth, THEY WILL! Just get use to it.

for sure CC!

One question that I think is important is "where do spirits go when they disappear"? Have you ever thought about that? I think the answer to that question will help us understand what these "spirits" really are. Both explanations I gave above are supported by the idea of spirits only being temporarily visible. However, the idea of a spirit walking the earth for eternity begs for us to answer the question of where they "go" when they disappear. It seems to me that a spirit that walked the earth all the time would likely be visible all of the time. If not, it tends to imply that their time here is sporadic which could imply a different explanation.

The only thing i can think of is...they either go to Heaven or Hell.

I believe they are here all the time, but in other dimensions. I believe we are sometimes permitted a glimpse into these other dimensions, though rarely.

:coffee2: :tongue3:  What IF... we live in a MULTI-VERSE, with pararell universe(s)/dimensions? What IF... THAT is where "spirits" go? What IF... UFO's are nothing more than "time travelers" in TIME/SPACE Machines? "HEY, LOOK!
It my GGGGGGGGGGGGG Grand Pa Rebel-KGC!", said my "descendant"... IZOD, from MARS! ;D ::) 8)

I can believe that there are other dimensions and we are permitted rare glimpses of them. This would be another example of where these "spirits" are not really the remnants of dead people walking the earth. They could be people that are living in other dimensions or times. That was my whole point. Once you start answering these types of questions it begins to open up tons of other possibilities that actually seem more plausible than the idea that ghosts are spirits of dead people.

1) Where do ghosts go when they disappear?
2) Why do some ghosts seem to be wearing clothes?
3) Why do some people report that ghosts walk the same paths and do the same things over and over again?
4) and on and on...

Please don't answer these questions here. I'm not looking for answers. I have my own beliefs. Just consider them food for thought and see if your own beliefs/theories include answers to some of these questions.

Spirits are energy incarnate so perhaps they actually move from this dimension to the other. Several years ago I read about a theory some Theoretical Physicists were looking at concerning the way electrons really exist. The long time belief was that electrons orbit around the nucleus of an atom, but these physicists were looking at the possibility that electrons actually move in and out of this dimension into another. They described the electrons as forming a shell around the atom's nucleus like a ball forms around a space and did not spin around anykind of orbit.
If this theory is possible, then the energy of the spirits move in and out of this linear dimension. After all, God is the very embodiment of eternity. In eternity, there is no beginning or end; no time. In the Bible, Jesus told either the Sanhedrin or his disciples (I forget which) that, "When Abraham was,I am." So you see, spirits on the other side can go to any point in this linear timeline, with permission from the Lord on high. That, is as good an explanation as anyother and makes sense if you can keep it straight in your mind just how "time" really works. Here and there.
Well........that's how I see it. What do y'all think?

Another thing----I know that UFOs are real and have had a little problem with that belief and my belief in the strict interpretation of the Bible until one day, BAM, it hit me that the UFOs are probably the Cherubim. These entities are not described in the Bible. It just says that God placed them at the gates of the Garden as guards and that they are there 'til this day. The Grays are described as having no sex organs. They appear to be unisex or no-sex. Well, Cherubim????

As far a ghost go. We do not die when this body does. We transform into a pure energy state. The spirits that folks see are our friends, neighbors, family members, strangers, etc. that have made that transformation.

Some do, some don't. Until I actually saw and talked with a ghost (spirit, or whatever term used) I would not have believed it was possible. In the middle '80s I worked in a locksmith shop in Madison,WI. I was sent to a house to change the locks because of trouble with the alarm system in it. The owner wanted the locks and alarm changed because they thought someone was getting in even though the house was locked up tight since the 1950's. At that time the daughter hung herself from the railing at the top of the stairs. Everything inside the house was left as is when she died. After I let myself in, I was changing the lock at the kitchen table when a young lady stepped out from behind the grandfather clock in the corner of the kitchen. She saw I was startled and said she was sent to watch the house. She even held the sides of the 50's style skirt out and half twirled it and said she "wanted to dress the part". I said that I was sorry, but I had to lock the door when I left. She told me not to worry about it. Back at the shop I explained about the gal being there and I described her. The boss swore that no one was hired to be there, and that the alarm and new locks were supposed to do the job. The boss described the young woman that commited suicide there... to a "T". Untill that time I didn't believe in ghosts. That experience and more since than (unrelated) changed my mind.

Now, I suppose, it will get around that I've joined the nut crowd.

Nut crowd or not, that one gave me a chill.

Quote from TimC: Now, I suppose, it will get around that I've joined the nut crowd.

Nope. I, for one , would never think or say that. I'm just thinking that you have experienced something that many, many other folks will envy because you are now one of the few who have actually seen proof of " life after death." Don't be embarrassed or unsure about your story. Embrace it. You also, now see that there is nothing to fear. I can't help but wonder how it would have been to sit there and simply talk with her. I wonder just what she could have told you. According to John Edwards, the spirits are not allowed to tell us too much about the otherside.

No TimC you are definately NOT a memeber of the nut club.....we've all have stories to tell.
Yours in just a little bit more 'envolved' than some of ours. I guess some can say, you were the lucky one.
There are Ghost Hunters out there who would have LOVED to been in your shoes that day.....

Trish, if I had known at the time what really was happining, no-one would have wanted to be in my shoes.... they would have been soaking wet, and not from the dew on the grass!

If you egg me on I will tell you of another sighting since then, unrelated to the Madison thing.

TimC

1. Ask me of the sightings in the hotel that solomon Jeaneue (sp) builte in Theresa Wis. My wife (now deceased) and I saw.

At this time she dreamt of losing two loved ones. It came to pass. Her diing father was easy to guese, but the other one was the shocker.

Lets hear it Tim! I love Ghost Stories.
Bet a person could get some good EVP's at that other one....where you were talking to the Ghost.

Trish, I'll post another "encounter" soon. I'm close enough to get pictures of the house in Theresa, WI. I want to take the pictures first. Soon.

oh yeah.... that'll make it even better!

Sure wished you could set a recorder in there over night Tim...

While I do believe that ghost are possible I also feel curious as to why only "humans" are ghosts. Why are there no animal ghosts? Aren't just as alive as humans before they died. They have thoughts, emotions and know love just like us. Thousands of horses died in battle traumatically just like humans. You never here about a civil war horse haunting an old building, do you?
