Re: Solved! Pipe Tamper style Wall Hook

Do you have a picture of an acorn tipped curtain tieback?

Comparing yours to others posted here in the past, I think the only thing missing on your hook is the screw. We at first thought they were door stops but they turned out to be wall hooks.

Greetings Bigcypresshunter,
I went through the links again, and did my own search, no Acorn Tiebacks. :-[
Plenty of acorn tip wall hooks, though none as small as this, and none as single hook designs.
An iron screw for attachment probably rusted out of this piece, though by itself would not supply enough holding power in common wall materials.
Theory: a set of these small hooks mounted on a wood base for wall attachment.
I think I am suffering from the 'Search Overload', a condition depicted in some recent television commercials for a new search engine.
when I dug it, I was really hoping for a gaslight fitting

It doesnt look too small to me but I dont really know. :dontknow: I wonder what the size of those posted by Shaun? Broken pieces were posted here many times but I cant find them.

Heres another. If yours is too small for a coat then its a hook for hat or towel or anything else.. :icon_thumright:

Thanks All!
At just over 3", & quite thin, with one screw & no escution, probably for hats, or anything lightweight. Hooks are Handy ;D

In the pursuit of the acorn hook pic, I located another hook that was titled, cloak hook. I haven't worn a cloak since I was little and I did not have a cloak hook to boot. I did find a really neat site for refurbished antique hardware. In this site click on Ed Donaldson and you will see some really neat old hardware. Arty
