Solid gold plated locket?

It is the exact size of a quarter. 1 inch.
Could at a 1800s home that it still occupied.
I don't see any way to attach it to a chain?
 

I have a small gold filled locket thats similar. I think it was for a tiny photo.

it is a small locket. it would have originally had a ring at the top to hang from a chain. it is gold filled or gold shell over brass. the style & construction are correct for c. 1890s or early 1900s. that little disc on the inside, if it wasn't so corroded, probably would have had the maker's name or trademark on it...perhaps you can still make something out.

I did a little brushing on the ring in the middle and but my lense on it, nothing there. There is no gap of broken looking place for a ring to hoop onto it. There is one tiny place there the gold is gone on the rim, maybe there was something attached there, but I am not to sure. Thanks for the input, your dating seams to be right on.
