Sluice Box Classifier Screen

You are lucky; we had 8" of hail everywhere yesterday. It is still out there today (even though it is in the 40's) and we just got more hail. Some from yesterday were golf-ball sized. By 8 inches, I mean deep. It looked like it snowed. They had to have to snowplows out to clean the Interstate and highways and streets.

Holy crap! The water in that hail just about equals our annual rainfall.:laughing7:
Back in the 80's we had just passed the Academy on the way to Denver in a brand new Maxima and got caught in a hail storm. I almost stopped under an overpass but dumbly did not. The hail ended up being up to at least 1" and caused about $2,000 damage but did not break the windshield even though it was visibly flexing. Lesson learned.

Man o man.... that kind of hail can really leave a mark.

I hope it stayed calm. The wind is what I most dread in beach mining unless it blew the day before and exposed some black sand.

I'm sure that screen will work well for metering and spreading out the sand flow down the slick plate. Here's to a gm. per bucket!
The day was fantastic, light breeze and warm.
Ohhh a gram a bucket... Hope springs eternal......
:tongue3:
The punch plate worked pretty well, water flow and screen height were the key. I'll post some more pics here..... http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/sluicing/454120-got-out-little-today-6.html
