Sleepy's Most Wanted (Roosevelt Dimes)

After having searched through $7,110 worth of dimes, I figured I'd get a Whitman Coin book (1946-1964 Dimes). I'm going to make it my goal to fill it by the end of the year! To the right is my "Most Wanted" List to help keep track of my progress. I want all of my finds to be from CRHing, so I won't be purchasing any of them. Here goes nothing! :headbang: 1)1955

Goal of 10+ dime boxes met. :icon_thumright: Starting to get a good baseline for my system in place. Results not as good as I had hoped for this week...would like to see at least an average of 1.00/box. We'll see how things goes next week.

Quarters

Trash Can next to coin counter: 1987 Canadian Dime and 2007 Japanese 1 Yen

Below are some non-quality phone pics of the error coins I found. The one on the left I'm calling "Rabid Rosie" cause there is a deposit of metal as if he's drooling. Found 3 of those. The one in the middle is a grease die error of sorts I believe. Spans from the date to the LI in LIBERTY. Found 12 of those.
The one on the right is just a plain old 2019P for reference purposes only. Wish I had one of those fancy microscope cameras to show you guys better, but I guess I now know what to ask for when Christmas rolls around!

Tuesday
No CRH - got outta work late. Brand new car battery died! Mass air flow issue...could cut into CRH time at some point in near future, but hopefully not.

Well, we didn't find one of the Most Wanted Dimes today, but we did have a good hunting session. Teller sold me all her rolled coin, which explains the assortment today. Can't complain when you find 6 silver dimes, 4 wheaties, and a handful of foreign coins. That 1964 cent was just the icing on the cake.

Another good hunting day. Found a steel cent on the magnet and the coin machine literally shot silver out at me upon startup in the form of a 1964 FDR dime! :headbang: After that, picked up that 1953S...still need 5 different 'S' mints and a regular ol 1953, but yeah...close! We did end up getting a new MERC though, which is always great. That completes my 1944 row, 11 of 17 in the 1940's, and 19 of 77 in the overall 1916-45 set. We're still sitting at 40 of 48 in the 1946-64 FDR set. We came close today, they'll have to know, we came close...

Felt good to go through a box of halves again. Only thing that sucked was having to reroll em all since the coin counter doesn't take halves. Also, Box 2 on the dime trail was fun. Found silver in rolls 1, 43, and 50! When you find silver right off the bat like that, you think, "man, is this gonna be a good box?!?"...Don't think I ever remember having silver at bookends like that before. Cool! The hunt for the remaining 8 Most Wanted Roosevelt Dimes continues...

A couple observations from this week...I did set a new record for silver found in a week in my new state, but I was kinda all over the place is terms of denomination hunting. I'd like to rein it in next week by placing a stronger focus back on the dime. After all, that's the best way to get that 41st find. HH Sleepy

Awesome Canada 25 cents!

Since I started to keep track of Coinstar finds in 2014, I've found 26 different Canadian "quarters", but not that one. Hope to fill that hole someday.

Box 2: skunk
Box 3: 1948, 1950D // 2009P
Box 4: 1964, 1952S, 1941 MERC // NEW FIND!

Reject Tray: $1.00, 1978 CAN Dime, 2005 10 Bani (Moldova)

In Box 4, the 1952S was and ender that also contained the 1941 MERC. My first multi-silver dime roll since 2013. :headbang: That filled hole means I've found 12 of 17 1940's mercs and 20 of 77 for the entire set.

Yeah, I was really pleased with finding it. It has that frosty look to it, a little bit like a proof, but not. Apparently, it goes for around C$49 at MS-67.

Sleepy: are you still saving the 2009 dimes, I've got to start dumping all of mine.
