Thanks Caratjuice, and for the site. You might just have it solved, silver made no sence.HH

Thanks Buckram,No the date is 1998.The back side looks like it may have some brass plateing as well. Not a chance they ran a little longer and made a mistake and i have a great find, just kidding,i dont know squat when it comes to coins.HH

Looks kind of like what I found at a show here a while back: it has advertising for americana on one and date on front is 1976 and other is 1977 and adver animal minatures. Calif. on one New Hampshire on other.

:) Thanks again Buckram,I did notice the 1907 date. And that seems to be the most logical to the IH i found.AS ALWAYS U THE MAN.

Jarman, the back of mine says: G.H. Labarre Galleries 111 Ferry St.Hudson, N.H. phone #, Americana Wanted & the other says: Laddie Rich Silver Bars, phone#, Animals in Minature, Covina, Calif.
With the dates 1776-1976 and 1977, they're just copies of IH the size of nickles, nothing fancy. Just thought they wre different and picked up a couple.

I wonder if it could have been a restrike of one of the earlier IHC's referred to as "White Cent's" due to the higher content of Nickel in them? Also it could have been struck on a wrong planchet? Just a thot....

Stoney, some how i missed your last post, sorry. What are the items you have are they made for collectors?

Ozzy, I have never heard of the white cent, does this make them more collectable?

Thanks, Jar

You know in 1889 they were striking the 3 cent nickel, the diameter is the same, you might have found something more valuable than you think. Try doing a google search. If it's been struck on a wrong planchet and is in good enough condition, you might have a coin that command's a high price.
I've seen a few listed somewhere, I'll look for the link.

My vote is on he WJB silver plate coin. Don't scratch it to confirm that, you don't need to!

Sure it's nice but it's not mine, Check the site Byers Numismatics, another good one is Fred Weinberg, and coin world and errorscope. Great for reference's. Wish you had some clearer pic's..

Thanks for the sites Ozzy,Ill see if I cant do better on the pic,s.

Its made out of white metal - a composition of copper and tin. Many US coins were struck in white metal in the 19th century.
Later, Kieran
