Well I have used this detector many times when faced with the same thing.
Amazing results.

Description of context. As in who owns the trees. Why you would fell one. What challenges to anything of value (beyond the trees themselves) expected to be contested.

Last I knew the fine for felling a tree that doesn't belong to you in my state was 3 times the value of the tree.
A place in range will plant a 5-6 foot spruce for me at 4-5 hundred dollars.
What would that mean in court? I get fined 1500 dollars plus court costs? So what's in the /a bucket to make that worth felling a tree?
