Recent outing(s) netted a vintage silver Cub Scout ring (1938), a very cool dog tag, costume jewelry, a hem weight, a smashed penny and a thimble!

Cool find. I was in the cub scouts when I was in grade school. I enjoyed it but me and the other boys were never awarded the patches we had earned so we all quit.

I probably got mine around 1975-76 or so. I believe they started in the 1940s. Also, I'm not sure how many variations existed. Still a cool find though.

I think in our case, we had two "den mothers" and the dues money collected ended up going for other things and never got replaced or earmarked for the award patches for our uniform shirts. Kinda sad really, I would have liked to continue on
