Hi Everyone!
Here's stuff i found over the last few days,
Silver shoebuckle frame, A first! thought it would be brass,
but when I tried to flake the crust off I knew it was the good stuff!
similar to the large brass in design, looks similar to some on the 1650-1720 buckle page

Handstruck Token on 1837 LC. not listed in Richards database.
E. ESSE & Co / General Commission/And Forwarding Agents/Portsmouth NH/
Importers of / Crockery / And Glassware / Dealers / in / Coal.
Can see the beading from edge of Cent and '37' from date.
A Cuff size Navy Button, CW Era Scoville BM
Bunch of other stuff, silver spoon handle with unknown hallmark (Eastern europe?)
one Merc & one '53 dime, Pewter musketball (a first) sand shaker top, buckle fragment & stuff.
Oh yeah, A 'Bartmann jug' fragment, these were a popular design, made in europe 16th-17th C !!
As always, i'm grateful to Mike at www.woodlanddetectors.com for his advice and
awesome deals on my equipment.
If your looking for a detector or just some advice, give him a ring!
That's it for now! Thanks for looking! Best wishes & HH to You !!

Great finds Steelheadwill, I especially like that little Zouave soldier on the run! He definitely has the 1890-1920's look, I will try to find out who made him for you! Happy Hunting, Subterranean

I see you recovered your usual assortment of great finds Herbie. Nice keepers for your collection. Is that an old syringe? Mike @ Woodland is the best and great customer service is a rare commodity these days. When you call to get a quote, you talk to HIM. HH, Q.

Congratulation!

Thanks all!!
hi Q :hello: that is my second old syringe find, this one is pretty big, so I don't think it's the
'Mercury syphilis cure' type... (Ouch :laughing7: )

I found smaller one previously, both have curved end like this example recovered from Blackbeards ship,
'Queen Annes Revenge'
Bramble, Thanks for putting a match on that token! someone did some hammering on it leading me to think it was handmade :laughing9:
I am really hoping for one of those Higleys, 'I am Good Copper/Cut my way Through' though I'd be most pleased with any variety......

Appreciate all my friends replies!! Thanks & HH All !!

I think more likely a grease gun /old oiler herbie.I've seen those syringes first hand as I live close to the maritime museum myself & know those guy's pretty good.I've talked with David Moore quite a few times. He's a good guy & has helped me on some things in the past. But they are quite small objects.

Hi Pete,
that's a couple nice sets of shakers.
from what I've read S&P shakers didn't come to widespread use till late 19th C,
there are some early examples of 'pepper casters', but S&P were mostly dispensed by a small spoon.
I think most of the old (Especially large) perforated metal caps were from Sand shakers, used to speed drying of ink
on written documents,
this one looks mighty close to your examples...
it is likely a S&P shaker.
Thanks & HH to you! herbie :hello:

Hi Again,
Just looked at the 'syringe' again, likely C1900 Grease gun, missing tip, it's 10" where the Syringe is about 6"

and the diameter of the tip is quite large, gotta dig out the pix of the syringe items I found before,
smaller, and nearby were two different tips for it, maybe from a lost medic kit....
HH, Herbie.
