Should I or shouldn't I?

My city has a policy of buying older homes and they tear them down leaving an empty lot for months until somebody buys them and builds on the lot. I asked for permission to detect a few of these lots today at city hall. I was told that they will not give me permission, but I can go ahead and detect anyways. What the heck do I do with an answer like that?

Why post the thread? Anybody else that knows where to find old coins would be in there.

Your right Free. I followed the detectors creed and asked for permission and got a non-answer. I'm going for it.
