A man was on a sailing ship one day when it ran onto a reef and crashed. He woke up to find himself facedown on a sandy beach with no sign of the ship or crew. There was not even any wreckage from the ship anywhere.
He walked the shoreline until he arrived back at the same spot on the beach where he first found himself earlier. He was on an island and it seemed to be deserted. He walked up into the trees to see if he could find something to eat when he spotted a dog and a pig. He remembered seeing them on the ship he had been sailing on. Day after day went by for twenty years and every day that dog would mount that pig.
One morning he spotted something on the beach and went down to see what it was. He found a steamer trunk and a woman barely alive. He carried them up to his bungalow that he had built and nursed the woman back to health. A few days later she was up and moving around thankful to to be alive and noticed the steamer trunk. She told the man that the trunk was hers and how lucky it was that he had found it.
She opened it up and pulled out a bottle of rum and asked if he would like a drink and he replied "boy would I, I haven't had a drink in twenty years. She then pulled out a pouch of tobacco and asked if he would like a cigarette and he repled "boy would I, I haven't had a cigarette in twenty years. She said to the man "there must be something more that i could do for you, you saved my life!"
The man said "you wouldn't mind taking that dog for a walk would you?"
