Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

My brother payed me a visit over the weekend and we had another DFX/SE showdown. Well,i think his Barber dime and beautiful 1816 Large Cent edges out my war nickel and no date Large Cent. His clad numbers are always a little higher also it seems, but I tend to swing slower and cover less ground while he swings like a madman and covers a LOT of ground LOL.
We dug all but the 1816 large cent at this mid 1800's site and then i took him to a pounded out cellarhole and he came up with this beautiful 1816 big coppa that was nestled in next to an iron signal.
My picture of a handfull of blackberries is to show that treasures come in many forms...mmmmmm good. My little hardshelled detecting buddy reminded me to take it slow ;D
Enjoy the pics!
Jerry

Good job, nice finds!!!

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

Nice finds, I'd really like to see more on the $1.00 token. What's on the flip side? I'm more in to tokens than large cents(weird huh?). But I'd love to find a nice early large cent like that. My oldest is an 1832. Congrats to the both of you.

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

I see the clamp from a sewing bird. Congrats.

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

Killer finds man! Glad you pulled some solid coins out of the ground. Those blackberries look super. I adore wild blackberries. MMMMMMMMMM GOOD!!!!!!

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

Nice Hunt. Thanks for sharing. I'm getting closer to jumping on the SE bandwagon.

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

Nice finds, really nice Eastern box turtle. Those turtles are becoming rarer and rarer because of overcollecting for the pet trade. It is now illegal to collect that subspecies, but it doesn't mean people stopped overcollecting them anyway... :-[

Nice job!

Is that a silver thimble?

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

Those are some Pretty coin finds there, buddy! Solid finds. Is that thimble silver?

Bravo to you and the Bro.

Keep it up, man. The heat finally broke here in old KY and we might actually get a hunt in here this weekend. :icon_pirat:

Looks like you two had a nice hunt, finding a good mix of things! It's cool that you have a brother to detect with too.

Have a good one,

This is my first IDing of anything on treasure net, finally..

Thanks, the flip side of the token is plain except for a larger 1.00 than is on the front. The front says Insurance credit system Dayton,Ohio..pat'd June'19 which i'm assuming is 1919? It was my brother's find and he thought he had a silver dollar!!!

Re: Saturday's Finds- DFX vs SE

What kind of VDI signal did the box turtle give off on your DFX?.....Or was that an eyeball find?

Gotta love the large coppers. :icon_sunny: Congrats to both of you!
