Took my F75..... cranked the sensitivity down to 40 and tried it in wet salt....noisy ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

But it found lotsa goodies.

All the coppers were in a straight line top to bottom of the beach--very odd...didn,t even dig for 3 of them...laying on top.

Please have a look at the black scoop object...very nice pattern...great shape and great detail.....WHAT IS IT ??

Could the ornate piece be from the butt of a flintlock pistol? Maybe a really small one?

agreed, just can't decide if it is an old toy one??

Anyone have any ideas on what the coins are ?

the one with the crown prolly is a NovaScotia penny or a New Brunswick penny.

NB or NS large cent for sure, can't really see enough of the rest to say one way or the other

your "scoop" item may be from a pistol, but it doesn't remind me of any I've seen before
to me, it looks like a pommel from an ornate carving knife or dagger

Alwayas nice to find out what we have found..... the pattern looks to be a little too fancy to be part of a toy as Crusader suggests.

But I can see it being as you say...was obviously meant to be seen.

when I first saw that I thought it was some sort of pommel as well. Nice finds!

Nice finds!

Nice stuff AQUA! Also good to know you found all that with your F75. Gives me hope that I can take my T2 SE to a beach site close to my house. It was established in 1607 and was simultaneous with Jamestown which the history books call the first settlement. Truth be known "The Popham Colony was settled at the same time. I love the ornate curved piece(whatever it may be). If you have any tips about the saltwater with your machine I'd love to hear them. All the best, Abe

Was out with it today again..found 20 musket balls and 2 very awsum buttons..will post shortly.

Took a buddy with me ...he has the F75 also...only his 4th time ever detecting...he found 2 musket balls and 1 button.

Reason being...the machines were so noisy it took an experrienced ear to hear the good zips amongst the terrible noise..it was awful.

At the end of the hunt ..i decided i couldn,t take it anymore...so i switched over to discrim mode... sense 60.. boost mode....discrim set on 6.

Boy was i impressed..the machine settled down immensely...and hit on the targets....but still need to ground balance quite often.

In all metal..i needed GB..every few 2 or 3 minutes just to hunt .

Will continue to try and figure something out.

Hell yeah buddy! Keep at it. That does it I'm headed to the famed Popham Colony of 1607 to find some rare treasure :-) happy to see you out there finding the good stuff. The F75 and T2 SE can be turned way down and still get great depth. As you now know

Now you say it, pommel makes more sense.
