In this topic I will show pics of the coins and other my finds. Welcome to Russia!
Here one of my first finds. Are found in the village where I have a country house
(in photos one coin is represented. But in different foreshortenings.)

15 kopeks. On a reverse the coat of arms of the Russian Soviet federal socialist republic. Main republic of the USSR. Around arms inscription slogan: proletarians of all countries Unite!

Well.... and for a dessert, an ornament of a horse harness. Are made of copper and these are frequent finds on fields of villages. We call them: "horse-flesh". in Russian it to say: "konina"

Thanks! My friend hunter dug out recently Russian fighting axe. He will present to me. And i will to restoration her. I will make the photoreport with comments about its restoration and post here.

Today went with friends to dig on fields, there places of the former villages.
Here pics of the nature of my region.
And my finds:
Russian fighting axe 17-18 century, denga-1731, a coin - VRP-polushka 1720 (a rare find in such safety, diameter ~ 1 cm), a part of a bell, broken square ring without jewelery and some copper rings of "konina"

This fighting ring for fist fighting. It is put on a hand thumb. 19-20 century.

Sulitsa - — version of the throwing weapon. Represents a dart, the throwing spear having an iron tip in length of 15 — 20 cm and a staff in length 1,2 — 1,5 m. It was actively used in Eastern and northern Europe in the IX—XIII century as the fighting and hunting weapon.

I like the axes, & nearly missed this post, as I saw the first one & didn't realise you kept adding to it. I would start a new post each time, so more can see.

How does a ring on your thumb help with fighting (I'm not a fighter), on the fingers I could understand?

Hevsursky fighting rings "Satiteny" (hevsursky rings), the representing metal rings which are put on a thumb

Satiteni generally applied hevsurs (Georgia nation) in hand-to-hand fight during «shugly». «Shugly» – a quarrel version between the men, coming to an end a duel – fight. At «shugly» the cold weapon was usually used and opponents tried to show the art of possession of it at which the slight bleeding wound which is not involving mutilations and not menacing to life should be put

In fight, opponents tried to put each other blows to the head.

Today again went to the village of our region. Looked for old 18th century the street of the modern village.
It is not enough finds, as this place is far from my city and we late found the street.
Finds: two bullets, one of them self-made, and coin "denga" 1749.

I think it's cool that not only do you find a bunch of cool stuff, you also provide a good deal of background and history for the items in your area. What a great resource of knowledge. Enjoyable topic!

Thanks for your interest to my messages and for your comments. For search in our region, it is necessary to know area history, to have many old cards and to do the long analysis. Sometimes, to investigate a place some days are possible. And result - good finds

Here one of my friends made Wallpaper for PC: in a picture books on history and archeology of my region, old cards and some finds are represented/

I think the researching is as much fun as the actual finding. It's a great way to learn about the past! The wallpaper is good because it shows just how important the analytical side of treasure hunting is.

Today with the friend again went. This time there was a place investigation where allegedly there lived people from 1 century B.C. to the 10th century AD. Three hours went in on foot to a place because on roads there is no possibility to pass. In the autumn, in Russia rural dirt roads turn into serious obstacles even for SUVs

Finds: at the beginning of a way the Soviet coins of the period 1961-1980 came across.
A bit later I found a knife 17-18 century at the bottom of the dried lake.

Approaching to the planned place, the friend caught a good signal. Dug a big hole 45-50 sm. At the bottom there was a book buckle, allegedly 13-17 eyelids.

The hole of any animal was a row.

And here we on a place. A few ceramic splinters from ware and are a lot of iron fragments of knifes, harpoons, tips of arrows, stone silicon scraper, needles.

If I am not mistaken, it was the settlement of ancient people of "Iron Age".

Some questions found answers, but there were many new questions.
There is a material for studying

A six hour hike (3 hours in, 3 hours out) shows how much you love the hobby, it looks pretty cold too. Just being out in such beautiful country is a reward in itself.

Again went with friends on places of the former settlements. The first place was populated during the period till the 12th century. Probably after arrival of Mongol Tatars the settlement was destroyed. Iron finds from there. Nail, hook, rings.

Second place. It was the former village of the period of 18-19 centuries. There we arrived in the evening.
Finds: elements of a horse harness, a part of a bell, a buckle, a coin of 15 kopeks of 1946 it is found at the road, the Polish medallion with the image of the sacred.

All finds

I too sometimes collect parts of pottery. Splinters of ware can help to define the time period of other finds. Splinters differ on character of drawing, a way of roasting, a form, thickness, color, composition of clay and quantity in the earth. It helps to answer some questions arising at identification of finds.

Today weather changed and everything became covered by hoarfrost, the temperature is lower than zero. But unless it will stop group of hunters?

Again on our route two places: The burned-down village 17-18 century and a place carrying out fair.
Left to the place of the burned-down village, long looked for a place. It was difficult exactly to determine a place as a lot of things changed by old cards.
On a place of the former fair 18-19 century silver coins were found.
As always, photos of our places and my finds.

Today I have an excellent day! Today I found the my first silver of imperial Russia!
