The lecture was over and the crowd began leaving the tent. ECS noticed a man following a terrapin while a self styled secret agent man was writing down on a yellow legal pad snatched of conversation from the departing lecture audience.
"It was the Beall that was on the SMYRNA that buried treasure"
"But who was Perter Fitch and Reme Lister ?"
"It was Jr who died in 1820, not Sr who was Register of Wills in New Orleans".
"How did Laflin know that Lafitte was Beale?"
"I read that the Beale Papers was a story about a shadow family of a Jackson Ward Alderman in Richmond"
"No, its really about the Confederate treasury that cadets at VMI hide".
ECS watched as this "spy" wrote all this down, then let out a laugh like a freight train.
Above on a branch of an old tree, a raven cocked his head to a side, nodded, then took flight as a portable radio blared- "same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was...".

At the local mall, there was a kiosk containing all manner of books explain the real story behind the Beale story in Ward's 1885 Beale Papers.
Young Ben Gates was perusing the titles. There was "ADAMS-ONIS TREATY PAYOUT: The Real Story behind the Beale story" and "LAFITTE'S MEMOIRS PROVES HE WAS BEALE: The Real Story Behind the Beale Story", and young Ben realized that all the books carried the same subtitle and were written by the same author. He continued to read the other titles.
"CHLORY D'LANCEY: BEALE'S BEDFORD BONAPARTIST"
"ALDERMAN THOMAS J BEALE AND BEALE'S HIDDEN RICHMOND FAMILY"
"MEXICO SHERMAN AND THE SECRET SHIPMENT FROM GALVESTON"
"OLIVE AND VINE WAS ON BEALE'S MIND"
"CHAMP d'ASILE LAUNDRY OPERATION AND THE CONNEXION TO THE BEALE STORY"
Young Ben was confused, some many books about the real story behind the Beale story, could they all be true?
He couldn't decide which one to buy, finally walking into the mall's Starbucks and ordered a latte.
 

It is now November; saying to the "Psychic" "Quick! What do you see?" "For Thanksgiving in the mountains?" "I see LOTS of Latte la Bee Ale being consumed by 3 Crows, 1 Raven, 20 rangers, 15 Delaware North Employees packing "Heat", "Just" & Josh in the Peaks of Otter Restaurant; as envious bears, deer, & OTHER critters peek into the windows". ALL discussing a "Tunnel" found by "Just", built by Freemasons on FED-property; USFS Rangers & US Air Force from the Onion Mountain "RADAR Bulb" were NOT amused. The Hawks were STILL flying by Harvey's Knob, on their way to Central America... for Winter vacation; LUCKY BIRDS!

The beat of a black unmarked helicopter rotors reverberated against the tunnel's rock wall, he looked up just in time to see three armed commandos dressed in black, faces concealed behind balaclavas as he was slammed to the tunnels floor.
Black hood forced over his head and hands secured behind his back with plastic ties, he was frog walked to the helicopter.
 

It was the FBI! Trained & protecting FED PROPERTY; one agent is Mark, a member of the Royal Arch Chapter... with his "Brother Companions". Mark WAS a member of RAM # 10, as was Rebel-KGC, in Lynchburg, Va. Mark was also familiar with the Scottish Rite MM Lodge, in which the Rituals are in FRENCH. While in Lynchburg, Va., Mark gave a lecture with slides of that "French Lodge" to the James River Research Lodge - AMD... Albert Pike was involved with the PICKWICK CREW in New Orleans. Mark sezs the "tunnel" is sloppy, a shoddy piece of NOTHING. RAM dig, KT protect... heh!
 

Pulling the cyclic back and increasing the collective, the pilot was soon over the Peaks of Otter, destination was an unknown base used exclusively for interrogation, debriefing, and indoctrination of misinformation.
The man in the black hood felt a sting at his neck as his mind turned into watery waves of blackness.

The truth serum percolating could not be fought off . He tried. Something was not right like a slipping grip.
"Toujour ,jamais, baggare!"...then softly- tiredly.." Toujour , jamais, baggare." No more would he say.
 

"Oui!" Quoted EVERMORE, the Raven. The three Crows, Mojo, Shadow, & Nevermore, nodded their heads in agreement...

As sugar plums danced through his head, on the other side of the observation glass, two men were engaged with briefing a third, who had just arrived.
"The problem is that he discovered the classified Cold War bunker, COME RETRIBUTION, believing it to be the Beale treasure vault, Josh, and is posting photos on a treasure hunting website".
"What is our option, I hope extreme prejudice is not on the table".
"If the re-education is successful, another Beale episode is in order, with "new" evidence that we'll provide that will lead him to a totally new search area miles away from the bunker".
"I thought COME RETRIBUTION was deactivated during the Clinton Administration".
"No, Josh, it never was, and remains highly eyes only top secret. He must never enter and see what is in that bunker".
"I understand, completely".
Turning to the observation glass, they watched the re-education in process optimistically.
 

It was noticed that a Ouija Board was being used to contact the "spirit" of TJB, as the man w/o the black hood was speaking gibberish in French; the "back-up choir" was singing... "Oui, oui!" "Oui, oui!"

Pushing the Ouija Board aside because all that came through was the pirate, Jean Lafitte, saying over and over, "Galveston, we have a problem", the programmer picked up a well worn copy of Pavlov's "BELL, BARK, AND KENNEL" and retorted, "We have other BEALES to ring before a clean mind is achieved".
 

"Yes, it was Mr Glow Worm's son that led me to the Beale vault location while a muddy squirrel helped me clear the entry".
The two behind the observation window made comments while listening to this debriefing.
"Do you think we have over re-educated"?
"No"
The both burst forth with a hearty laugh.

"Like I tried to tell Poe", quote the Raven," I'm OTEY you're Okay, and his only reply was nevermore".
The three crows broke into hysterics, knowing that Poe couldn't find a letter if it was in plain sight.
With that, the smaller of the three crows cackled," I liked to buy a vowel, Pat".
"Sometimes "Y" ", quote the Raven.
