My brother and his wife headed down to the hunting club and checked out the creek I last hunted in July and posted on. This is what they found in the creek. Could use some help on the ID of the blade and broke. BTW that broke base is huge. Great patina, its like they never got turned over but the creek floods big time. I was thinking maybe Copena and ??

Here is what my girlfriend and I found on the river at that crazy tool site we keep going back to. One decent triangular and a knife. We found a lot of little knapped tools and pieces but that was about it. This is what we threw up on the bank for a picture and what the pockets of debri look like we search. I wish now I had of got the big chert rock in the picture.

Re: River vs Creek ?

Thanks neighbor. You did well today.

I think I will vote for both, all great finds in my book. Good luck Tn. JYD...

Great pics and great finds, TN. My creek seems to tumble the heck out of pieces but those are beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks JYD and Bluesy. Its not gold but to me it sure is a fun past time. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate them.

Hey TN,

That red and gold rock is really wild, WTH is it? Also I REALLY like the color/patina on the first several heads, don't remember seeing any quite like that color. Beautiful stuff!
I'll take either...river or creek, they both have a way of swallowing and then regurgitating that which we seek.
Great hunt to both of you!

Picture heavy is fine, those are fun to look at. We hunt both river and creek, just can't resist the water. You never know what they are going to offer up. Good work!

Bravo it was just a pretty clorored chert rock, Looked like a bit of river cobble and horse creek. Thanks nature girl I may go pull some deer cams and take a metal rake and check that creek very good today : )

nice finds.cant help on the id.the material is killer.I prefer to hunt the rivers, just because i use to have alot of luck hunting the ohio river back in the day.but i do love my creek hunting.

I'm with JYD on this one. That is some serious patina in the first two. Tennessee river blade? the broke may be a Appalachian or Savannah river? Nice knife, is it a biface or uni?

Thanks everyone I hit that creek today so I would not be outdone,,lol nada nothing but flakes and 2 geo paint pots. Could sell those on Ebay, haha I like the Rivers best in my book for me to Greg. Thirty7 the knife is a curved biface flake that was worked and somewhat tumbled in the surf due to its shape. :icon_sunny:

Sweet finds, looks like your bro had the upper hand this time, hahahaa. All great finds, good luck on your next hunt, things will turn in your favor next go round.

Thanks doc
Some of those flakes were still pretty sharp. I bet you could still use them in surgery. Everyone would want to try them.I can hear it now. Hemostat's, suction, flint.
Thank you for your kind words.

Hey Greg believe it or not the Hooters here is built on an old Indian Village site by Chickamauga Creek. It was one of the lower villages from the Little Owl village site. That is the honest to gosh truth. Little Owls brother was Chief Dragging Canoe. The last fighting Indians known or sometimes called the Chickamauguans. They knew GW from VA. Old Hickory from Tn wild history with these guys.
