Swung for a few hours in a spot that caught my eye when digging milk bottles earlier this year and was nicely rewarded. The 1812 button sounded just like a shotgun shell and really surprised me...the cuff button is civil war navy I believe but I need to lemon juice her proper and I will post updated pics of both button (both have considerable gold gilt left just need to restore). Pennies are 1893 and 1929. Nice mix of late colonial, civil war, and depression relics...will definitely be back to hammer the creek when warmer. Have a great day everyone :).

UPDATE: 'navy cuff button' is actually a Rhode Island militia button (thank you Fredneck on ID there)

Let me know if you ever want to meet up for coffee and talk detecting.
extremely busy now but after holidays maybe a Virginia Kitchen breakfast would be cool I love that place...got a little social anxiety but like to chat with other diggers for sure...I'll IM u sometime..another digger OBX hunter reached out to me earlier this year I believe he is in Herndon too but didn't have ANY time then (I'm a primary caregiver for a crippled man and an autistic man). Take care and happy hunting to ya!

Breakfast my favorite meal! Sounds great, look forward to hearing from you in the future.

S.W., Welcome back and Great Saves of some C.W. History. The two buttons are very nice and still in good shape with much of the Gold gilt still left on them. Well Done on the lead too. You had a productive hunt for sure.

You killed it in the button department! Some great specimens pictured. Also looks like a very beautiful place to detect. Congrats!
