Found this in flood debris from a large Oklahoma lake. I'm thinking the local Redneck Yacht Club lost thier goddess effigy. What is this? About 9" tall, and has a hole in the bottom about 3/4" diameter. Maybe the top off of an umbrella? I love her. She makes me grin everytime I look at her.

Believe it or not I am just gonna keep my mouth shut...

"Nice find" is the only appropriate response I am going to be able to offer on this fine effigy

Oh Great Redneck Goddess Of Fertility, I shall sing redneck songs while cleaning my trailer barefoot & pregers.

cute. Is that a hole for an arm? Looks like a lamp. Is there a hole all the way through top to bottom?

Sex toy for a Barbie doll, now that they've discontinued Ken? Just a thought. A sad, sad thought.

Carbon date it? Now there's a thought. Who knows exactly when the Redneck culture began. And since only a redneck could find beauty in this thing, I suppose I can't deny my heritage. There is another "arm" hole on the other side, and a smaller hole in the back. The hole in the bottom doesn't go all the way to the top. What is the tack on her face? and the little screw at the bottom? and the little wire skirt she has on? My husband thinks she had a light inside her to make her ta-tas light up. Unlike a true redneck woman, I think she was decorative, not functional. Unless of course, she really did help populate the rednecks. Thanks for the resopnses, I hope she made you smile.

A trailer? That would be a fancy trailer. What about an old wooden boat? Maybe she was part of a boat.

Can you furnish a photo of the bottom, back?

Clearly it is a homemade figurehead. I would think that the hole on the bottom is to affix it with a peg to an object(boat) and to see where it was found it almost has to be from a small ship or boat where it was mounted on the prow. So you are correct about a 'redneck' yacht club (but maybe from only one male person). The definition of a figurehead is "a carved wooden decoration, often female or bestial, found at the prow of ships largely made between the 16th and 19th century"; so that checks out, only the age is modern.

The tack, my impression is to keep her from chatting or talking, thus a tacked up mouth.

My husband thinks she had a light inside her to make her ta-tas light up. Could be but then there has to be a hole or holes connecting from a battery or electric source that would go to the lamps inside; and maybe an indication of wires to the lamps.

About the screw/washer and wire on the bottom, have to think about that for a while...... Have a little idea but I think everyone has to decide for themselves.

And yes, she made me smile, every time I looked.... I guess that is something, if I owned a boat, that I myself would attach to the prow (and I am not even a redneck or am I).... just to give me (and others) laugh once in a while. Don't kick it, it could have some (or a lot of) value seeing the posts..... who knows?

I think I found the artist who made it (only he has now became commercial and moved on to other objects). Here he with a couple of his 'figureheads'.

Sorry folks but it is NOT a redneck fertility. Take it from a redneck. The whole group of us DO NOT need or want any fertility help. Never made any. Now there are some Redneck anti-fertility devices. But that's another posting.

Not enough trailers to go around now. Have you priced a used single-wide lately. They're into 4 figures? Or is it 6? Do you count pennies?

Here are the other views. I was wondering about a figurehead, but when i look closer, the wire skirt is a row of staples, so I'm back to umbrela topper. I shined a flashlight up into her, no glowing ta-tas, unless there is debris up in there. On one hand I hope she isn't a fertility goddess, because she makes me a little nervous being in my house, I'm waayyyy passed the childbearing stage. I like the idea of it being homemade. I'm a sculpter and moldmaker. I've thought about mkaing a mold on her and casting her into another material. I think she just might sell. OMG! I really am a redneck!
