Reality check (for me): What percentage of your hunts ...?????????????????????

With kindness, be careful who you call a liar. You have no basis for that statement.
We are not calling them liars..... We are just saying they are streching the truth ...And they know it........... I knew i would see a lot of no no not me ... every one wants to look so good to every one.........

Is it okay to hunt sematarys?

I think you know the answer to that. That would be very poor image for everyone who metal detects in my opinion. I wouldnt want to be seen in a cemetery with my metal detector out and digging tool in tow.

This is about pricipals! As one of the Marx Brothers once said, "Principals, I got principals and if you don't like those I got others."

just getting it out of the ground before china owns every thing in America....

Very good ponderance and I suspect that if all the "zero" answers really thought about it, they too might not be zero/never. You are certainly correct in the fact that about every local government lists clauses about disturbing or defacing the landscape, disturbing the grass, in public areas. How can anyone honestly say that they've 100% verified that they can make a 6-plus inch hole in the ground in every public spot the've ever hunted? Have you fully explained that these kinf of holes will be happening when you have gotten permission? Do the zero answering people only coin pop with a probe or stop at shallow targets? IMO, there are some "assumptions" which have to be made, otherwise it's not 100% fully guaranteed that what you are doing is legal unless you specifically ask questions in detail.

As far as intentional trespass, nope. I've wondered about a few places I've been invited to hunt by a detecting friend or two who say it's permissable. Those gray areas exist from time to time. martin

as far as the first part of your question, about tresspassing, everybody's "zero" answer could be in entirely legitimate. But as for the second part of your question, about digging where you shouldn't, then maybe those same people never go on public land ? Because guaranteed that all public parks , schools, campgrounds, etc... have rules forbidding alterations, defacing, and maybe even the specific word "digging ".

Thus none of us who turf hunts public parks can *technically* say he's never "dug where he shouldn't have". But as long as you lay low, and aren't a nuisance,, you're usually okay.

there is no such thing as private property when the government comes in and takes it a way from you too pays off it's debt to china ...

I went hunting for two mason jars of coins, buried in a field. The person i went with said, he was about 6 years old and saw the man bury them. The man was his uncle and the place is the old homestead. We asked the owener's for permission, they told us no. The place where the money is buried, you can see from the road, old tree in the field. To go or not to go, late at night? It seams to me that evil deeds are done at night and worrying about getting caught take's away all the fun. Sooooo guess i'll have to find a different approach. tresspassing never works out !

Well I tried the Mding without permission one time and kept looking over my shoulder
whenever a car came by.....So I left after about 20 minutes, Got to thinking that I was being a P#$$!
So went back the next Day....Nope still felt like I was being watched. So I gave that up, It's too easy to get permission

That speaks volumes!!!!Another reason I understand you like the show and dont see any damage it does

I will probably go back and tell the owner of the property about my quest, and offer him half. Or maybe not, he would still tell no and hunt for it him-self.
