This man is the reason I took an early retirement, I am sure some of you remember my rants in the political forum on him and how many people left the agency due to his illegal election and his back ground.

I said it back then, he will get busted because no one steels such a high level position, demands to be paid for the job, looses more than half the agency personal and close to 90% agency donations without getting lots of attention.

Looks like now he will be donating his organs.

Sounds like the nytimes is sympathetic to Mr. Meng.
Why are people surprised China acts in its own interests.
For years, my impression of China has been that as long as you do not embarras the party you are ok. Once you cross that line you are toast.
The comments are funny:
"China cannot be considered a modern country as long as it employs these tactics. Clearly, Mr. Meng resigned his position under duress. I hope he survives this and the family is able to reunite soon."

Somehow this reminded me of our Russian and foreign policy experts assuring everyone Putin would not invade Crimea and squander the good will garnered by the olympics, hours before Putin did exactly that.
