Here's the stuff I found under the house. I found a marble then lost it again guess it wasn't ready yet. Oh, and the average person wouldn't dare go under that house after one look. Things I will do to save history.

Got a good look under my uncle's house. There's this root cellar that has a creek rock foundation and its full of water. I'm going to go under the rest of the house looking for relics. Probably will be the first in 147 years to look for something under there. HUGE SPIDERS

I know you are going to find something under there! I can't wait to see what!

I wonder what happened to things from the 19th century like dresses, stoves, and what people used during that time. I know somethings are underground, stores and collectors. Seems like there would still be more stuff existing.

I just missed this post! :tongue3: I knew you would get some bottles! Can you ID the little one?

MR WD took out someone else fishing to day, so I got to dirt fish the campgrounds. I spent most of my time in three pull-throughs right across from our lot.
I found mostly trash and a total of $1.29 in coins. One quarter, however, appears to have had a nail pounded through it. So down to $1.04. :BangHead:
I found $0.22 without the MD. Oh, and I found a Marlboro button.

I remember before I started metal detecting and bottle collecting I was walking along the Miami River in Hamilton and seen a group of old bottles. I still think about them till this day.

WD,

Well you got out and swung the coil and ended up with a bit of money for your troubles so not a bad outing.

I managed a short hunt also a costume jewelry pendant and a bit of coffee money also, luckily there's a 2 dollar coin in the mix so at least it'll pay my morning coffee tomorrow with a bit left over....:headbang::headbang::headbang:

Those are “if I only knew then what I know now “ moments. It just wasn’t meant to be. I used to live in a 100+year old house. For some reason we had to pull up the floor and get under the house. I found a few bottles that I still have. But now I know I could have dug and possibly found more and who knows what else.

Nice! My daughter gave me one of those two dollar coins. Do you find much American coins?

I have been looking forward to hunting this campground for months but we still have a lot of campers here. I’m not sure how many more weekends I can get up here. Buggers are raining on my parade!

Congratulations! My grandsons would love to be able to fight each other! Did you get a little satisfaction from it? I could understand it being weird against your friend.

Thought about making some pottery the old fashion way to hold coins and what not. And the red firebricks, I just want to experience what its like making things the old fashion way.

Here’s my hand shovel.

And my plugs staying together really depends a lot on the type of soil and how dry.
