The common bird of prey we have hanging around my area is the merlin also called a pigeon hawk. A few winters ago a Cooper's hawk grabbed a bird at our feeder and took off with it. The biggest bird of prey I saw in the area was many years ago a golden eagle landed in a neighbor's tree those things are huge.

The reason I say this is... on first glance Osprey's resemble an eagle until I take a close squint on em.

Always watching the birds.

There is an owl around... I hear him / her / it from time to time... I scan and scan... no see.

Woodpeckers here look prehistoric... so huge.

And parrots squawk by above me daily.
