I tend to agree with you Toecutter. I use to trap in my youth and never saw a trap like this, BUT STILL, that was a good guess.
The finger, ( or thumb ), latch on the side does favor a purse of some type. Maybe it was a civil war equivalent of today's "Man purse" or fanny pack ? :dontknow: It is interesting and I will continue looking for possibilities. That thumb lever/latch is SO familiar, yet I can't remember from where :BangHead:

You're gonna make me buy them aren't you? Well, these things have been altered and painted. The question is how much altering? Look at this pick.

Good morning folks.

You're gonna make me buy them aren't you? Well, these things have been altered and painted. The question is how much altering? Look at this pick.

I don't think those are even close Sis. Chances are they won't sell them anytime soon :laughing7: Which gives us time to figure out what they are and then you can decide if you want to buy them or not. I just can't place where I saw them, but it seemed like I saw them on a regular basis and maybe at my dad's house.

Why do I think your shed will be immediatedly condemned on completion?
I have a mostly complete 265 chevy engine out of a '56 if you need some more "decor" ;)

LOL! Those shed pics were just to show the style. It will not look that run down, I guarantee! Hubby does not like anything old looking, unless it is fishing related, i.e. poles, lures, motors, minnow traps, etc. And, since hubby had medical issues, the building of the she-shed is yet again put on hold. Oh well, story of my life.
