Bad train of thought Tom.
I'd suggest backing everything up ASAP.
You most likely are going to need some new RAM or hard disk unless you are using a SSD.
Also, if you started a reply to someone, after a set time, the forum software autosaves what you have typed.
Like you started a reply and then change your mind and backspace everything out, you will get a warning about changes you have made will be lost.
What platform are you using ?
Ram ?
A virus cannot affect this.
OTHER than in bogging it down... but not "physically" harm it to need a "replacing".
Hard drive either for that matter.
