Well.....its time !!! All my machines are getting pretty beat up and worn out. Left an excal with the bahamians.....it was on its last legs. Coil epoxied back to shaft, shaft connection worn out and wobbly, cracked battery cable(repaired once already), knobs long gone and knob shafts frozen in position. Ancient cz-21 just stopped working. Down to the kids old cobra beach magnet, and it's getting shaky too. Floppy coil that I cant tighten any better, with duct taped shaft etc. Other excal is being saved for underwater only and even it is showing age with knobs falling off. So.....I'm thinking eq 600 ??? What do ya guys think ?? Looks alot lighter than the shoulder popping, arm breaking excal. But waterproof to only 10 feet ?? Does that mean it fails at 8 or 9 feet or 11 or 12 feet ?? I'm always in 4-8 feet that's why I want to save the excal for the 15-25 foot stuff. Is it worth the extra money for the 800 ?? I better look into some others first i guess. Havnt found one that can take the constant abuse I dish out and equinox looks fragile. I've tried the constant maintenance and careful cleaning and it makes no difference in the end. The excals fail in the same areas no matter how I treat them. They are tools to me and I need a hammer that's gonna last. The one excal that lasted the longest I would rarely do more than rinse the salt off and sometimes not even that, many times I walked out of the salt water and never even rinsed it. What I'm saying is that they all had the same issues in the end no matter how I cared for them. What machine should I get !!
