It was common practice to make cutlery out of copper and put a thin coating of silver over it. Yours obviously wore off I've found some spoons detecting over years in pretty much the same condition.

Heard about a coach who would say, "Have a nice day...if you want to."

Can't see a hint of former plating. Around 1900 or earlier was one opinion. Just something neat.
