Now...

Folks I will take the thread in another direction by "adding clothes"... in fact... clothes that will stop weapons... even modern day ones including guns.

Hard to believe ?

Tis true.

One of the most interesting things I have had the pleasure of witnessing is the art an science of "armor".

I am truly fascinated with armor... the craftsmanship of it is incredible and even modern metal smiths today cannot duplicate it even with modern technology.

Suits o armor like the following were made for kings and the wealthy and would take teams of men years to make.

So...

Sit back and let me slide some pics your way you may enjoy.

rook,

Since you're a pinball wizzard this one's for you.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Actually since I'm as old as methusula I saw the Who live back in the day great concert but here's the funny part of the story/evening. The opening act was a band called the Troggs who had a monster hit called Wild Thing. Well the drummer kept throwing out his drumsticks out to the audience as souvenirs and the security
guards kept bringing them back to the stage to return them....:laughing9::laughing9::laughing9:

Bill, I remember the Troggs. They bordered on being a one hit wonder.

Armor_in_Muzeum_Zagłębia_01.webpHeres a musket hit.

AARC,

Good idea to steer things more towards a clothed direction....as you say the site is supposed to be family friendly.

In any even a bit of trivia for you and the rest of the crew I snooped around and found out that a full suit of armor could weight as much as 110 lbs. Given that men in medieval times weren't for the most part all the large or heavy that's an awesome amount of weight to carry around and still manage to fight and defend yourself.
