Post your best looking UNSOLVED "What Is it"

OK, this is my best looking unsolved "What Is It". There have been several types of these posted. Lot's of good guesses but nothing definite. Remember, this is NOT the forum to be looking for an ID for your What is It. Just show off that thing in your collection that's been driving you nuts

Well BuckleBoy and MI Wolverine teamed up to put a positive ID on my whatzit at the start of this thread! BuckleBoy located the patent based on the numbers Wolverine had on a similar piece that he had found. Turns out it is clothing fastener. Found this along the Mohawk River. Have tried for a year to identify it, with no luck. It has a screw back fastener and is about the size of a quarter.

Found this last year. About the diameter of a silver dollar, made of brass or bronze. Bowl shaped with a raised circle about the size of a dime. The circle is a plate of thin metal, and has three distinct color bands, gold, rose gold, and possibly silver. Looks like it could have been something worn, you can see where attachments had been. Heavy for its size. Has a "Arts and Crafts" feel to it, but the etching looks like it could be older. Found in an area where 1870-1900 stuff was being dug.

I found this on a Rally at Lincolnshire it was one of the best days detecting I ever had 8) I had essayed, it came back 24ct, never did get the correct Id for it, I have always thought it was a hair decoration....probably Saxon some outhers thought ring money, but I don't think it is, could also be Viking hack Gold.
The same day there was an amazing discovery from the same field, an Anglo Saxon burial was found and a huge square headed brooch recovered very high state-us

I pick this thing up once a month. It is certainly not good looking but sure has taken alot of my blank staring

I think I know what this thing MAY be.....

Typically only a 'one holer' pointing straight out......but could this have been attached to a leather belt of the Guidon or Flag Bearer during parade or marches? Ya know....the spear-tip of the flag staff sits in it. Or maybe attached to an outside builing wall holding two flags......your just missing another part or brace



Just a guess.

never did figure out what exactly this was used for. I even mailed the Goshen Historical Society with no luck. All copper plate with intricate stamping. Found on a 1860's home site.

Its' a target. A bullseye in the middle and concentric rings. It was used and has bullet holes in it.

I read up the history of the Akron Bag company, but it still doesn't tell me what exactly this thing was used for.

I too can't offer anything but a guess and coat rack is what first came to mind. But what's interesting is I have what I believe is very close to the same face on an early sword belt clip.

This was not properly I.D'd. in my opinion. The best theory was off of a school desk but it can't be as it has movable pieces and clamps.
It certainly is cool to look at but what the heck is it?
