This is my best copper: 1793 George Washington Ship Halfpenny. I dug it in a sloppy cornfield. :icon_thumleft:

Don't be shy, guys, and post that awesome copper! Tell us what kind of site it was dug at.

Keep the passion high!

My best copper !

½ Ör, Sweden, King Gustav II Adolf about 1627-32.

The coin is not so fine, but it is old, rare and large.
Diametre 3.6 centimetres.

I can tell by the way you are starting these threads that you are snowed in. :laughing9:

Believe it or not, if I wanted to deal with a slushy field I could be detecting right now!

I know everone is about sick of this old boy but I had not even thought of him tell Ironhorse posted his great Tokens. But gotta say that if I had to choose between the other two I posted they would have to go cause of the rarity here in the U.S. and simply the age it is and condition as well.I don't even keep it with my other finds it has a special place of it's own. :laughing7: Anyway I'll stop posting repeats now and will wait tell my first 2010 hunt to post anymore. Just about got my passion high enough to blaze out tomorrow but will see how the wind is first I guess.
Over And Out!(TK)! :laughing9: :hello:

Right around the freezing/melting point here but the ground doesn't seem frozen. There's probably still a little too much snow in the fields, and Ironhorse has been sick. Had things been just a little different I think we would have got a couple hunts in.

Won't be any adventures until April, but you can be guaranteed you'll hear about them when it happens. I had no intentions of doing any research today but came upon some good leads for the Spring. We will be posting goodies!

I bet these were a nice looking coin when new!

This Liberty Cap is as found, no cleaning was needed. Came out of pure white sugar sand, probably was a work area not too far from a Ferry landing and along the road leading from the landing towards town. Second set of photos using different lighting thus the change in color, the combined photos are true color.

I just searched the site for some of my old pics and happened to find these, which are two of my best and favourites.

1722 Rosa Americana Twopence & Rare date 1773 counterfeit Hibernia Halfpenny.

Here is my best ;D This one was protected by a brick. You can see the "red" from the brick on the back of the coin in the before pics.

I could be posting coins and stuff all day, but I would have more fun digging them, and I can't do that for a while.

I'm blown away by all old coins and how good the condition remains to this day, some are almost in undug looking condition!

Great job posting guys, I like the oldies!!

I have many favourites that would still qualify in this category, but they aren't the best ones, the best ones for rarity aren't always my number one choice for best one, ask me on a different day and I might post something else.
